Murud is an exotic weekend getaway located in Raigarh district of Maharashtra. It is famous for coconut and betel nut trees. Murud is asmall fishing village famous for majestic forts, exquisite beaches and lovely surroundings. The deity in the shrine is represented as the incarnation of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. This temple rpovides an aestheticview of the seashore. The dam is located amidst lush green vegetation and one can hear the chirping of birds, mutter of gushing water and the rustling of tree leaves.
GOL GUMBAZ: is the tomb of Mohammad Adil Shah and is an architectural marvel and the sound system in the dome reverberates any soundnine times back to the sender.
MURUD FORT: An impregnable fort in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. It is located in the sea 3 km from Murud. It is battered on all sides by sea waves. Despite repeated attempts, neither the Portugese nor the British could conquer the fort and even Shivaji failed six times. The fort has two water tanks and a deepwell with cold and sweet water. There are 19 towers in the fort with huge cannons. Kalal Bangadi Chavri and Landa Kasam are two famous cannons which were meant to ward off enemies.
KASA PADMADURG FORT: is spread over a vast area of 9 acres and is located in the Raigarh district of Maharashtra. It is constructed by the Marathas for the purpose of conquering the Janjira Fort.
