Route 2: Srinagar – Pampore – Awantipora – Kulgam – Aharbal
Another option is to drive through Pampore and Awantipora to Kulgam then on to Aharbal. This route is a bit longer at approximately 100 Km and takes about 3-4 hours. This route is advantageous in winter when the Shopian route might be closed due to snow.

You can take a shared taxi to Shopian from Parimpora or Batmaloo from Srinagar. Once in Shopian switch to another shared taxi to Aharbal. It’s a budget-friendly option but involves multiple transfers.
