It will take you just about 10 minutes to get to Mirissa surf spot from Madiha Beach. It is best for intermediate-level surfers and those who feel like they are ready for the reefs of Sri Lanka. You can enjoy surfing without feeling conscious about your skills! The only problem with this spot is the winds. You can expect them to start at around 9 in the morning until 4 in the evening. It is best to avoid surfing during these times. You will get a chance to work with second swell so that’s a plus.
4. Madiha Left

Expect the coral to be shallow on the Madiha Left surf spot. In terms of the surf breaks, this is not as hard and comparatively slower than the ones you can expect to see at places like Bali. You will get sufficient time to move around and get in the groove while you surf so it is recommended for twin fin. Knowing the pullout location is a bit tricky so watch out for locals and how they do it. If you miss it, you will land right on a reef and that will be anything but pleasant.

Also known as A-Frame, this surf spot in Madiha Beach is best for intermediate surfers with quite some experience. It will improve your surfing skills on the South Coast and the water is just right for practising and reaching the expert level of surfing. The paddle out is easier compared to the Madiha Left. You just need to observe the locals do their thing here as you will find the channel only by watching them for a bit.
