Mayur's 7 days trip to North East

We had a family trip to Assam and Meghalaya in April 2025, planned by Indeman Travel Solution. Sanjeev from Indeman helped us with a well-organized 7-day itinerary, including hotel stays and cab services. The resorts at Kaziranga (Dhanashri Resort) and Dawki (Peit Them Resort) were excellent, with beautiful gardens, clean and spacious rooms, and polite staff. Other hotels were okay but didn’t meet our expectations in terms of room size, cleanliness, and breakfast variety. The hotel in Shillong (Ramson Stay Inn) was new, but it had no lift, making it difficult for older people to access upper floors. The breakfast was very basic — just bread, butter, and a sandwich. It would be better if they added items like cornflakes and bread omelet. Overall, we were happy with the trip, the itinerary, and our cab driver, Mintoo Das, who was polite and helpful. Sanjeev was always reachable and helped with hotel room changes and safari bookings. However, the pre-travel and on-trip coordination could be improved, as no one checked in with us during the trip. While support was available when we called, a more proactive approach would have been better. In short, it was a memorable and well-planned trip that our whole family enjoyed.

Thanks to Prabhat for arranging and planning our trip; we got to see a lot of good places and made many memories Few things could be better: 1. We missed a lot of good places and restaurants due to communication challenges with the driver, 2. The Dawki accommodation was terrible, and it didn't match what was shared with me, 3. I was told that April is the best month to visit, but it's not, 4. Dawki is best in December, I feel that we could have spent more time in Cherrapunji or Shillong , 5. The trip in itself was hectic due to cab travel and every day change to a different hotel, it would have been better if we stayed more than one night.

We had a wonderful experience during our trip to the Northeast, specifically Guwahati, Shillong, and Cherrapunji. Our journey began in Guwahati with a visit to Maa Kamakhya Temple, followed by Shillong and Cherrapunji. The entire trip was very well-organized. The Travel Agent took good care of the bookings for kaziranga safaris and boating in Dawki. Hotels were reasonably ok in Guwahati and Kaziranga. Shillong hotels were good and the Cherrapunji hotel for one night was basic while the second one was good. In Mawlynnong we did not get to stay in the hotel that was mentioned on the voucher and should have been communicated better. The driver arranged was also not very satisfactory. Please check about Kamakhya temple time needed and if you need to talk to someone to get VIP tickets before, similarly would have been good to let us know that Waterfalls would be out of water in meghalaya in December, they caused unnecessary waster of our time. Also he should know what Shillong peak is closed on Wednesdays which caused us to waste another precious 2 hours.

The highlight of Assam was cruising on the mighty Brahmaputra River and exploring the rich biodiversity of Kaziranga National Park, where I spotted majestic rhinos and vibrant birdlife. In Meghalaya, the serene landscapes of Shillong, the mesmerizing beauty of Dawki's crystal-clear waters, and the charm of Mawlynnong, Asia's cleanest village, left me in awe.

We had great time at Meghalaya. Eventhough we had requested for an English speaking driver as per request for the trip, we were provided with a driver who doesn't know English. But we could manage somehow with him in Hindi. The hotel at Shillong was very good compared to other hotel/resort. Eventhough parking was included in the itinerary, in many places in Meghalaya, this fees is mentioned as Entry fee and hence we were forced to pay for the Entry/parking fees for the vehicle. Even in few places it was mentioned as parking fees, we were paying for that too. We had taken CPAI plan. So we were ready to pay for our meals for lunch and dinner. But the restaurants that we were taken to have food were overpriced with respect to the quantity of food we received, even though the food was good. Boat ride in Dawki river and Canyon view points

The hotel accommodations were good. All the places we covered - Kaziranga, Dawki, Cherrapunji and Shillong were good! Shillong itenary surely reminds of viewing the 'Scotland of the East'! Spectacular! For trips in the East, it would be good to factor the early sunset, long distances you need to travel and waiting time (places like Kamakya Temple) while planning the itenary. We had to skip lunches for continuous 3 days to ensure itenary is completed. We had to skip Orchid Gardens, Umiyam Lake and Kamakya temple which could have been avoided.

Jincy's 10 days trip to North East

Stay was good except for Iamanlong Resort in Shillong. Driver was good, but inexperienced. That's still okay. The company he worked for didn't fill petrol in bulk and every morning we had to wait at petrol pump as the owner would directly send the money to the petrol pump qr code and then the petrol would be filled. That was nuisance. Travel agent was good. Almost all our need were accounted to. But giving a different stay in Shillong just for one day was not acceptable. The places are surreal
