In order to reach Nepal from Delhi, one can opt to take a flight or travel by road. However, traveling by flight is the most convenient way to reach Nepal from Delhi. There are nonstop flights available from Delhi to Kathmandu provided by Air India, Nepal Airlines, and IndiGo. But other modes of transport are also available. Roadways is certainly a possible alternative to flights, if not a better one – especially if someone is looking for cheap traveling options. There is no direct connection by train.

The main connection between the two places is established by Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Tribhuvan is located on the outskirts of the city of Kathmandu, around 5-6 km away from the center. Here’s our detailed guide on how to reach Nepal from Delhi.

Delhi To Nepal By Flight: Delhi is the city with the most number of direct Delhi to Nepal flights. Flights from other cities like Mumbai or Kolkata most of the times have stops at Delhi before leaving for Nepal. Air India, Indigo, and Nepal Airlines are some of the leading airlines which operate direct routes from Delhi to Nepal. It takes less than two hours to travel from Delhi to Kathmandu by nonstop flights to cover the distance of around 812 km.

Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) is the airport in Delhi and Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) is the airport situated in Kathmandu. Once one arrives at the airport, one can book a taxi or hop on a local bus to move to one's desired destination.

Delhi To Nepal By Road:By Bus: One has to travel by bus to Gorakhpur from Delhi and from there, take another bus to Kathmandu. With a bevy of luxury buses available for the journey, one can board a bus of their choice, and reach Nepal in around 30 hours while covering the distance of 1250 km.

By Car: However, if one wishes, one can also opt to go on a road trip by one’s own car. If you find the distance long, you can opt to take a taxi as well. Covering the distance by car will definitely lead to an amazing road trip.

I believe I made the best out of my time in Nepal, whether I was paragliding in Sarangkot or enjoying the lakeside serenity of Phewa Tal or simply sitting by the shrine of Pashupatinath ji during Arati. I thank Snowyoda because I never had to worry about anything else apart from what I am going to see next.
