The best way to reach from Delhi to Nepal is by boarding a flight. There are nonstop flights available from Delhi to Kathmandu provided by Air India, Nepal Airlines, and IndiGo. But other modes of transport are also available. Roadways and railways are certainly possible alternatives to flights, if not a better one – especially if someone is looking for cheap travel. One has to travel by bus or train to Gorakhpur from Delhi and from there, take another bus to Kathmandu.

The main connection between the two places is established by Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Tribhuvan is located in the outskirts of the city of Kathmandu, around 5-6 km away from the centre. The border that is most commonly used to travel from Delhi to Nepal by road is Sunauli in Uttar Pradesh.

Here’s how to reach Nepal from Delhi explained in brief detail.

Delhi to Nepal By Flight: Delhi is the city with the most number of direct Delhi to Nepal flights. Flights from other cities like Mumbai or Kolkata most of the times have stops at Delhi before leaving for Nepal. Air India, Jet Airways, Indigo and Nepal Airlines are some of the leading airlines who operate direct routes of Delhi to Nepal by air. It takes less than two hours to travel from Delhi to Kathmandu by nonstop flights.

Delhi to Nepal By Train: Ever since the Janakpur-Jayanagar line has been closed for update, there are no direct trains to Nepal anymore. One has to access it via Gorakhpur station from Delhi. Gorakhdham Express, Arunachal Express, and Bihar Sampark Kranti Express are some of the trains between Delhi and Gorakhpur. From there, one can take a bus to reach Nepal border.
