About Kamshet

The Kondeshwar temple
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is a rock construction which dates back to around 400 years. The temple is set amidst dense forests and there is a natural waterfall nearby. There are also some smaller shrines in the vicinity.

Kamshet is known for its paragliding schools. The schools offer you a chance to take up the sport as a professional and for leisure. The tower hill in Kamshet is an excellent ground to launch the gliders from an elevation of around 2500 feet. The weather in this region is perfect to support paragliding, with plenty of thermal activity to ensure a rewarding flight.
Tip: The paragliding season begins right after the monsoon season and coincides with the kite flying season.

Located at an altitude of 625 meters above sea level in the Sahayadri range of the Western Ghats, Khandala is a scenic hill town which is a perfect weekend getaway. The hill station is a trekker’s dream and has several trekking, hiking and biking trails. You can also enjoy quiet nature walks. There are also a host of caves that you can explore.

Located about 15 kms from Kamshet, Lonavala is another popular hill town in the Sahayadri range of the Western Ghats. Within its 38 square kms expanse, the hill station encompasses numerous historical forts, placid lakes and ancient caves. You can also visit Rajmachi Wildlife Sanctuary and Rajamachi Point from where you can take in the commanding views Shivaji’s famous fort and the surrounding valley.
