You must have seen the photo of PM Narendra Modi meditating inside a cave that has been doing rounds on the Internet. If not, you clearly have been living under a rock (or inside a cave, maybe). Anyways, the emphasis here is on the anonymous Kedarnath Cave because guess what? It is up for grabs.

The Kedarnath shrine is set to reopen on  with a special puja in the morning.

There are two caves that have been identified and restored near the Kedarnath shrine and five more are in the pipeline. This is in efforts to promote modern cave-life to the pilgrims by the Prime Minister. While one has been named Rudra, the latest discovery where Modi Ji meditated is yet to be named. You too can plan a stay at one of them during the Kedarnath visit for a not-so-austere cave experience.

Now on a Char Dham yatra, you can have an experience of the primitive times when our ancestors used to live in the caves. Only this time, you will have a bed, butler, phone, and wi-fi inside the cave to make your stay comfortable to a basic extent. Not to forget the surreal views of the valleys and mountains. Meditation becomes easier when you have such an astounding landscape insight. Agreed?

All this in INR 990.

Earlier, the price of the Kedarnath cave experience was INR 3000 but GMVN reduced the price to INR 990 after realizing it was too high.

The cave fits one person only which makes sense because meditation is hard when someone is breathing down your neck. You can book your stay online at Kedarnath Cave through the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) website.

Sure, living inside this modern cave is no luxury experience but who knows, meditating inside the cave might help you attain Nirvana (if that’s what you are after). Otherwise, staying at the cave should intrigue you just for the heck of an experience.
