Bumthang Tour Packages

We toured Bhutan for 9Days in May 23 availing the services of A D Tours & Travels (Mr. Gurung) through Travel Triangle. Mr. Gurung was very helpfull and helped in planning of our tour and answered all our queries. He took care of the epermit and travel insurance. Tour guide Mr. Dil Kumar and driver Mr. Tshering were very helpful and we developed a good relationship. Hotels and Homestay were generally very good except for the Chumey Nature Resort at Bumthang who grossly overcharged us.

The entire trip was well coordinated by the agent . Thanks to Way About Bhutan for mesmerizing Bhutan experience. It was 12 day trip from East to West part of Bhutan.Our guide/driver Tandin was wonderful guy , who even took us for a local temple festival in Bumthang !! . 10 KM walk in Phobjikha valley ,Tiger's Nest Hike,Haa Valley, Trongsa view were fantastic.

While we were choosing agent. there was some doubt in air while looking at some of older reviews. Though we initiated the process, the best part we like about is responsiveness, flexibility, listening ability and quick turnaround as major plus of Mr. Damber Gurung. It was 12 nights 13 days trip(18-30th March, 2019). The whole itinerary was as per us, how we wanted; with each and every thing well defined. we are kind of people who define what we want to do and choose on basis who can fulfill the requirement best. Now starting with trip all tickets, cab and hotel booking were done well in advance in our choice of hotels; also all vouchers shared as per agreed timeline. Now coming to parts of the tour. Hotels, all were amazing (Tashi Nagmey(Paro), Ramada Valley(Thimphu), Drubchu resort(Punakha), Hotel Dewachen(Phubjika), Bumthang(Jakar Village lodge)) we got complimentary upgrade in Paro and Thimphu. Cab, we got SUV, with an amazing driver and gem of person Mr. Gyadhen Jamtsho, a clear hearted man who try to ensure that you are happy. Now some parts where traveler needs to take a lead like please check the timings of all dzongs & Lakhangs. Also check on what attire needs to worn. Kindly note that if you are travelling ahead of Thimphu towards Punakha, Phobjika and Bhumthang, road permit to be taken from Thimphu. Better you can visit with driver so that correct information can be given in one go. There is one caution that in some of lakhang and dzongs they will ask specifically for guide, though Indian's don't need to have a guide as a necessity. In this please ask your driver to keep their traditional dress with him and should accompany you to avoid these kind of situations, as in that case they generally don't ask much. Tip: On standard itinerary please check what all places you want to visit and timings. Also check what places are good to eat, as you can eat in evening outside and come to hotel later. In Tashi Namgey: Take rooms on 1st floor like 117, also hotel got a good massage center. Ramada Valley: Take rooms having river view.

Very much liked the driver. But was not impressed with the agent. Because while we went to stay at the Phobjika Valley, the hotel provided single room for me and my wife, as rest of the rooms were booked with the same agent. Then we were shifted to Dewachen after I agreed to pay half of the additional cost of Dewachen. Although it was agents responsibility, I had to pay. The agent should have been penalized. I never saw snowfall in my life. While going to Bumthang, I experienced it on the way.

The AD Tours and Travel organized our holiday in beautiful Bhutan. Mr. Gurung and Mr. Tashi was extensively helpful and supportive throughout our tour. They have taken care of each and every thing very precisely. Bhutan what to say....Such a beautiful and peaceful country. It was one of the best place I visited till now. We are mesmerized by the gigantic mountains, scenic beauty, beautiful hills, deep forests, amazing culture, valleys and honesty. We thoroughly enjoyed our trekking to Taktsang Monastery, River Rafting, Hot Stone Bath, Candle Light Dinner, Team Dinner, visit to Chele La Pass, Dochula Pass and Fortress. In our journey of 8 days we visited Thimphu, Paro, Punakha and Phobjikha Valley. All cities are so beautiful that engraves in our heart. Due to time restrain we couldn't visit Bumthang. But we will definitely visit there. Again thank you so much to Mr. Gurung and Mr. Tashi for your assistance. Hope to visit Bhutan soon :). Happy Memories :)

Bhutan INC or rather Hari, with whom I was in contact with, was a pleasure to deal with. Very cordial and answered all my queries and arranged the trip according to our preferences. The driver he assigned us, Ngawang, drove us around for 11 days. Not only was his knowledge of Bhutan extensive, his driving was also excellent and we felt safe with him on the winding, steep roads. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip, loved our time in Bhutan and our insight into Bhutanese culture and its people and their traditions. The majestic mountains, the beautiful sparkling rivers, the friendliness of the people, the greenery, the black necked cranes in Phobjikha, the beautiful Dzongs, especially Punakha Dzong, Buddha viewpoint in Thimphu, the breathtaking view at Dochula Pass, the Tshechu festival in Bumthang, the Tiger's Nest monastery in Paro....all made an impression on us.

Our experience with Bhutan INC was very pleasant. Hari was approachable through our time in Bhutan. He had planned our trip from point to point meticulously. Everything went very smoothly, from getting permits, sight seeing, getting authentic meals, etc. Our drivers, Angshuk and Kinley, were extremely professional and were a delight to have along with us in the trip. Our hotel were more or less well chosen. However, next time we would avoid staying at RKPO at Gangtey (Probjika valley). The view from the hotel was scenic and the service was prompt. Unfortunately, the rooms were small and dingy and they do not have room heaters which are needed as it gets cold in the night at Gangtey especially in the fall and winter. We would also avoid booking at Tashi Namgay at Paro.T he rooms are small and the wifi is just the worst! The remaining hotel stays were comfortable. The hotel at Phuentsholling, Hotel Druk, has intracately carved wooden rooms and the chef is very good. Our next stop was at Thimpu, where we stayed at Hotel Osel. Its located near the town's main square and has comfortable rooms. Thereafter, we were at Punakha at RKPO, which was far better than the RKPO at Gangtey. The complimentary breakfast was especially enjoyable as the restaurant boasts of a magestic view and sumptuous cakes. We headed to Bumthang next, where we stayed at Gangkhor Guest House. This was our best stay. The guest house has very cozy fireplaces in every room and offers a variety of food ranging from continental to Bhutanese. You must try the buckwheat pancakes and traditional 'puta.' After Bumthang we were at Gangtey and then Paro. Our last stop was at Haa Valley, where we chose to stay at Chimmi homestay/ farm house to get the feel of living in a traditional Bhutanese home. This might not be the best idea if you are travelling with your grandparents or elderly people with knee problems. They do not have running hot water (it is provided on demand) and they have floor mattresses and no chairs. However, for me the stay was lovely. Chimmi is very friendly and tries to make you feel at home. She is a great chef and you must have a traditional Bhutanese meal there. She uses very fresh, organic vegetables from her very own farm. Also try out the Herbal Stone Bath here. It is cheaper than those at hotels and spa resorts and is way more traditional. It is a very relaxing experience an helps get rid of sunburns you're bound to get during a trip! After our last stop, we headed back to India. Here the coordination between Bhutan INC and the Indian drivers was poor and could be improved. All in all, our trip with Bhutan INC was good. Supriya Das 12th December 2018, Kolkata

I will never recommend Himavat travel agent to anyone. Problems: 1. First day when we were waiting for flights, got message from pinki with cab details. We booked ertiga for 4 members, but she sent indica and reason was big cab not available at bagdogra. But then we asked himashu to send either ertiga or two indica as it was difficult to manage in indica for four person. Surprisingly after 5 min, he arranged ertiga. This was his first lie. 2. There was no plan for sat and sunday. Neither mineral water nor sim arranged for first three days. 3. We booked deluxe AC room. But in phuntsholing, hotel receptionist said that your agent booked standard non ac room. Again we had to call himanshu and then sorted out this issue. This was his second lie. 3. He told us that bumthang road is blocked due to landslide, so he will edit itinerary. But when we asked clear detail for new itinerary, he didn't share. And we asked local guys and cab drivers for landslides, but noone knew that. So I didn't trust himanshu. 4. Third day when we asked for permit, he said no need to be in queue. I have setting there. But around 9.30am, he asked us to come in queue, he will call when application submits. He took our application form also. We reached at counter, but noone was there from himavat and we didn't have application also. Borrowed phone from other person, called himanshu 2-3 times. We asked for application token no for biometric. Here again he lied and said 21. At same time officer announced 21 and it was not our application. Our application was not even submitted by that time. He came after 2 hr. Then finally done our permit work 1pm. 5. Third day when we reached thimphu, without telling us he has changed our hotel. When we enquired, himanshu told us that due to reinnovation, our hotel changed. When We asked him that we will check our hotel once, he said that sir sorry some other guest did check in in your room and there was no reinnovation. Another lie:). Then he showed us hotel in very isolated area, we denied for that. Finally he arramged good hotel wangchuk in city. And we don't know how come same hotel name was in our permit document, even that hotel was not booked earlier:) 6. Neither pinki nor himanshu told me that there is no proper road to bumthang. They even didn't tell flight option. We have to struggle for 11 hr bumthang journey. 7. Pinki told me that ha valley and chelala pass will be included but it was not in itenary and she told me trust us, we will do. And we did mistake by trusting them, we didn't cover ha valley and chelala pass in paro. 8. In paro also, we struggled for 1 hr for room. Same standard/deluxe problem. Then heater was not working. 9. Hotel reviews: Green touch resort; 3* Sinchula: worst hotel 2* Wanchuk: best hotel 4* Kingaling: 3*, bad service and staff Mipham guest house: 3*. Bad staff. Food was very very expensive. They don't have any menu. And they don't charge based on dish, they charge based on how many people eat. And not mentioned it in advance. They charged 500 for mix veg dish, 360 bread buttet for 4 people. Namsay cholin: 3* , bad staff. 10. And they give very big itinerary, but it just to read on paper as it's not included in itinerary which told to driver:) 11. They told us your driver is driver cum guide. But its not true. 12. Overall they broke our trust, made very bad itinerary, in which only you can roam around in cab but can't visit any place. The only one good thing which he did, our bhutan driver "Dorgi" bhaiya. He was very polite, true person. Himavat seems new startup with less resources and no experience in bhutan trip. Tiger Nest trek

Overall a very good trip but lack of the local information from the driver cum guide was a drawback Moreover the basic duty of the driver seemed only to take you from a hotel to another hotel from one city to another and drop you The Hotel provided at Punakha Hotel Tashi Gastell was very bad Excellent at Paro and Bumthang and at Thimpu Hotel 89 centrally located but lacked in upkeep and services (a) Telephone not working (b) Bathroom Door could not be closed (c) shower Cubicle Panel missing (d) Toilet seat broken (e) Maintenance and repair work in progress in progress effecting peace and tranquility Should not recommend Thimpu Bhoomthang tiii the condition of road improves Details of the Iteternery does not conform to what is given in print and factual
