1. Nagarhole National Park

Kabini Reservoir near the town of Sargur is located at a distance of about 60 kilometres from Mysore. Namdroling Monastery or popularly called the Golden Temple of Coorg, is the largest teaching centre of the school of Tibetan Buddhism known as Nyingmapa. It has some fabulous work of Tibetan architecture and beautiful murals adorn the wall. Spread over an area of 80 square feet and built from Bamboo which was donated by the Indian Government to the Tibetans in exile, this temple holds many auxiliary structures like educational institutions and a hospital, in addition to being home to about 5,000 members of the Sangha community. It was founded by Pema Norbu Rinpoche, the 11th throne-holder of the Palyul Lineage of the Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism, following his exit from Tibet in 1963.

5. Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary

This is the second-largest wildlife sanctuary in Kerala. This sanctuary in Wayanad is surrounded by the protected areas of Mudumalai in Tamil Nadu as well as Nagarhole and Bandipur in Karnataka. The wildlife sanctuary was founded in 1973 and is an integral part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve which was the first biosphere out of the 14 present in India. Spread over an area of 345 square km two parts namely Upper Wayanad and Lower Wayanad form the area.
