Le Mayeur Museum is a small art museum in Sanur, Bali, Indonesia. It was the former residence of Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur de Merprès, the famous Belgian painter who lived in Bali from 1932 right up to the time he died in 1958. The museum is his residence, which was constructed in the Balinese architectural style with some modern architectural structures located in a large, beautiful garden near the beach. This Museum contains some sixty to seventy of Le Mayeur’s paintings, mostly capturing the Balinese people and their way of life.
Most of the paintings depict his wife, Ni Pollok, who was a Legong dancer himself. Le Mayeur had no children who could inherit his work, thus Ni Pollok set up the museum after his demise to display his art. This collection consists of paintings of Balinese ceremonies, landscapes and daily life painted by Le Mayeur, which gives us a glimpse of Bali in the early mid-1900s. They see that the museum reflects the artist’s enthusiasm towards the culture and people that informed his pieces.

4. Bajra Sandhi Monument

The Bajra Sandhi Monument is a historical monument in the Renon area of Denpasar city in the Bali province. It was built in 1987 as a symbol of Bali’s Balinese people and great heroes to depict the historical events and the effort and strength used to achieve it all. To commemorate this event, a monument in the form of a Mandala that consists of three courtyards with models of other historic scenes was built. Pura Gunung Kawi is a temple that dates back to the ancient era, and it belongs to the Hindu religion, situated in Bali, Indonesia. Located in Tampaksiring on the slopes of holy Mount Agung, the temple was constructed around the early 11th century as it is surrounded by beautiful rice paddies and the Pakerisan River that flows at the front of the temple.
