Mike Newman, owner of the Newman’s Bakery had a brilliant idea of building his own castle that many of us can only dream about. Even though this castle took a lot of time to be completed, today it stands firm with a dramatic drawbridge, an enormous dining hall, chapel and a beautiful courtyard to add every essence of an original castle. What’s more is that you can book your own tour to this palace which is not very far from Houston.

5. Moody Mansion Museum Galveston

One of the rarest castles that were passed on as a legacy in the family for about 86 years, was the grand Chateau Carnarvon Houston. The Moody family’s treasures and most of the originial furniture have been preserved over the years and are now on display as this place has turned into a museum. You can opt for a tour of this mansion which excludes the ground floor. This floor, however, comprises of many activities like Building Zone, Tinker Workshop and more only meant for kids and a separate fee is charged for entering this space.

6. Chateau Bellevue

Constructed in 1874, the Chateau Bellevue was originally made for the North family and the stunning additions were only made by the next owner in the year 1892. Featuring all the typical castle characteristics like stained glass windows, a great ballroom, charming courtyard space and stunning hand-carved woodwork, this place is inspired by the French Romanesque style and is used for Austin Women’s Club meetings in today’s time. This palace is also used for weddings and other types of events.
