4. Take A Dip In The Theerthakund
According to ancient Indian traditions, it is important to wet one’s body before entering any sacred space, as that enhances one’s receptivity. There are two separate Teerthakunds in Isha Yoga Center—the Chandrakund Theerthakund is for women, and the Suryakund Teerthakund is for men. If you are in Isha Yoga Center and want to meditate, you can start by dipping in these Theerthakund.
It is believed that the water of these Teerthakunds has several healing properties, and dipping in it helps alleviate chronic ailments and diseases. If there is any imbalance in your energy, the water of the Theerthakund can straighten it out, eventually bringing physical and mental rejuvenation.
5. Meditate in front of Dhyanalinga
Dhyanalinga is a Sanskrit word that combines the words Dhyana (Meditation) and Linga (Form). It was the result of Sadhguru’s three years of intense Prana Pratishtha. This unique energy form is the first of its kind to be completed in thousands of years and is supported by a pillarless 250,000-brick dome structure. Dhyanalinga is a manifestation of all seven chakras energized to the very peak and locked to prevent dissipation.
Before entering the Dhyanalinga complex, visitors can see a 17-foot white granite monolith called the Sarva Dharma Sthamba. This monolith has symbols of nine major religions inscribed on its sides, welcoming people of all religions. On the left side of the complex, there is an 11-foot-high statue of Patanjali, the celebrated author of Yoga Sutras. At the same time, on the right is the Vanashree shrine, representing the feminine deity of Dhyanalinga in the form of a peepal tree.
