How To Reach Ziro Valley?
To get to Ziro Valley in Arunachal Pradesh, you usually have several options based on your origin. They are:
By Flight: The closest airport to Ziro is Tezpur Airport, 280 Km away. There are no direct flights from Delhi or Kolkata to Tezpur, and you often must change planes in Guwahati. But Guwahati Airport has good connections with big cities like Delhi and Kolkata. Once you get to Guwahati, you can take a taxi to Ziro. Both government and private taxis are available at set prices based on how far you’re going and what kind of car you want. The usual way to get to Ziro from Guwahati is through Tezpur.
By Road: If you want to drive to Ziro from Guwahati, it’s a 470 km trip that takes about 7 hours on NH27 and NH15. Hiring a taxi from Guwahati or Jorhat is a good idea for a comfortable and easy trip. Or, you could fly from Guwahati to Lilabari and then take a cab from Lilabari to Ziro. There are also government buses from Itanagar to Ziro that cost INR 100-200, but they’re not as comfortable as taxis. The beautiful scenery along the roads makes the trip enjoyable.
By Train: There’s no train station directly in Ziro. But you can catch a train from Guwahati or Tezpur to Kathal Pukhuri, which is the closest one. Trains from Guwahati take about 8 hours and cost between ₹750 and ₹1100. Once you reach Kathal Pukhuri, a taxi ride will take you to Ziro. If you’re coming from Tezpur, the route is similar, and you’ll need to take a taxi for the last part of the trip to Ziro.
