This temple is one of the destinations of the four principal pilgrimages of Gautam Buddha. A deer park is located where Gautam Buddha started his journey about his teachings. After Lord Budha achieved his enlightenment in Bodh Gaya, he returned to Sarnath to communicate his teachings to the monks who left him before his enlightenment. This deer park was a platform to start his teachings about Suttas and to liberate humanity from suffering. He delivered various teachings about many Suttas, forming a building block for Buddhism. 2. Chaukhandi Stupa

Chaukhandi Stupa is a famous Buddhist temple in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Stupas are the shrines of Buddha built in his memory. This stupa was considered to be a monument of national importance in 2019. This place was first built in the 6th century to signify the site where Bhudha met his disciples for the first time after travelling from Bodh Gaya. This place underwent many renovations until the son of a Mughal finance minister, Govardhan, modified the shape of the stupa. It was again rebuilt by Akbar. This stupa is a mound made of bricks in an octagonal shape in the Mughal style. This style was added much later to the original version.

3. Ramnagar Fort

Ramnagar Fort, located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, is a red fort built in the 18th century by Maharaja Balwant Singh. It is situated on the banks of the eastern side of the Ganga River and opposite Tulsi Ghat. It is believed to have been the home of the Maharaja of Banaras. A temple inside this fort is dedicated to Veda Vyasa, who wrote the Mahabharata and Lord Hanuman.
A museum inside the fort, known as Saraswati Bhavan, exhibits many antique collections. It has one of the most ancient scriptures, furniture, silver and gold jewellery, utensils, cars, royal costumes, swords and guns from countries like Japan and Africa, and an astronomical clock that shows the details of the planets along with day, week, date and time. This clock was built in the 19th century. The museum earlier was a Darbar. This fort is believed to have been constructed for Veda Vyasa, who stayed here. During the Ram Leela festival, the entire fort is decorated with colourful lights, and Ramayana episodes are performed for a whole month. This fort is open from 10 am – 5 pm. The entry ticket to the museum is Rs. 20 for Indians and Rs. 150 for foreigners.

4. Dashashwamedh Ghat

Dashashwamedh Ghat, located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, is one of the most sacred ghats of Varanasi. It is situated on the banks of the Ganga River and close to Kashi Vishwanath temple. There are two Hindu legends about how this ghat was formed. One is that Lord Brahma created this ghat to welcome Lord Shiva to Kashi. Every day in the evening, Ganga Aarti is performed for 45 minutes with colourful lights, decorations and diyas floating through the river. This aarti is performed between 6 pm – 7 pm. Many tourists visit this place to witness the Ganga Aarti. Many boats are available for tourists to take a round around all the ghats, reach this ghat by the aarti time, and enjoy the bhajans and aarti from the boats. The priests performing this aarti wear similar clothing and perform the aarti with various chants and rituals.
