As you explore Bhimtal and walk alongside the lake, you can find limited shops selling locally-made items. Most of the shops catered to the local population. They had daily use items and snacks like biscuits and ice creams. And some stalls alongside the lake which opened towards the evening and offered snacks like butter-bun, maggie and tea or coffee. The number of restaurants and eateries outside of the hotel premises was quite limited in Bhimtal.
While the streets of Nainital have many more food and shopping options. The Mall Road itself has many fine dining options, quaint cafes and easy-on-the-pocket food options as well. So, if you are someone who would like to explore the buzzing market of your destination and explore food options outside of your accommodation, then definitely go for Nainital.

How To Reach Bhimtal From Nainital?
The total driving distance or the travel distance that you will have to cover to reach from Nainital to Bhimtal is around 22 km. You can either choose to drive yourself to Bhimtal from Nainital, or you can rent a cab. In addition to this, it should be noted that there is a regular bus service from Nainital to Bhimtal.
Bhimtal doesn’t have its very own dedicated railway station or airport, but if you prefer to travel by train, then you must note that the nearest railway station to Bhimtal is the Kathgodam Railway Station, which is at a distance of around 30 km from Nainital. There is a direct bus that runs from the railway station to Bhimtal. The distance between Nainital and Bhimtal will be covered by scenic beauty that will accompany you throughout the journey. A bus from Nainital to Bhimtal will take around 20 minutes, provided that your bus driver maintains an average speed of 60 km/hr throughout the entire journey. Well, it should be noted that the average travel time from Nainital to Bhimtal by bus may vary, or it will take more time than mentioned because of road conditions and different travel routes.
