According to various historical records, Gurudwara Sahib Pushkar was visited by the two most famous Sikh Gurus in the past – Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Guru Nanak Dev Ji during their visit to the Rajputana States in 1706. They were hosted by the priest Chetan Das during that period. The place where the last Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh stayed was formerly known as Gobind Ghat, and later it was renamed as Gandhi Ghat. A beautiful stone slab located under a kiosk is inscribed as Gobind Ghat in four different scripts i.e. Gurumukhi, Persian, Devanagari, and Roman.
There is a historical hukamnama, which is inscribed on the bhojpatra which states that it was gifted to priest Chetan Das by Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, which is still in possession of the serving priest of the Gurudwara. A handwritten copy of Guru Granth Sahib – the religious scripture of Sikhism is also in Possession of the main priest here. A modest gurdwara was built in Pushkar in the early nineteenth century to honour the arrival of both Guru Nanak Sahib Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji. This was later scrapped for repair and reconstruction purposes, and a stunning white marble Gurdwara was built in its place.

The nearest railway station to Pushkar is located in Ajmer. It is 30 minutes away from Pushkar and connected with the megacities like Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Bhopal and Bangalore.
