Niti Valley is one of the last bastions of the distinctive trans-Himalayan culture and customs, which the Bhotia community still fervently practices. Among the distinctive traditions still practised by the Bhotia community are the Lapsu, Mask Dance, Sitoon, and celebrating Sangrand, the first day of the month on the lunar calendar.
