4. Saumyakeshava Temple

Dedicated to Keshava, a form of Lord Vishnu, Saumyakeshava Temple is a sacred shrine for Hindu devotees. The temple has been declared a monument of national importance and is a protected site under the Archaeological Survey of India. The six-foot idol of Keshava stands tall on an eagle pedestal, accompanied by his consorts Bhoo Devi and Neela Devi. The three-shrined (Trikuta Chala) temple has a garbgriha (sanctum) and a vestibule (antarala), which connects the sanctum to the closed inner hall (mandapa), which further opens into a gathering hall (maha mandapa). The central mandapa in front of the main deity has a carved stone structure in which Adisheshan is engraved with 108 conches. The head of the Adiseshan is called Raahu, whereas, its tail is called Ketu.
