The Son Tra mountain has a geological significance. It depicts that the mountain was part of an island and was separated from the mainland by sea. Over centuries, the relentless flow of the Han River and coastal sedimentation created a sandbar, eventually connecting the island to the landmass and forming the peninsula we see today. So, to witness such an ecologically significant mountain in Vietnam adds to an enriching experience the next time you plan your visit to the mountains. The unique formation of this mountain and land mass creates a situation where the mountain is surrounded by water on all three sides, creating the peninsula.
