The Sri Karaneswar Nataraja Temple’s history is not ancient but relatively new. It was initially constructed in the year 2000, but due to the tsunami, it was severely destroyed and damaged. Again, in 2006, the present temple was built, and Auroville Earth Institute extended its support for the construction.
