4. Bhadrachalam Temple

Built by Lord Srirama’s staunch devotee, Kancherla Gopanna, popularly known as Bhakta Ramadasu in the 17th century, Bhadrachalam Sri Seetha Rama temple is a famous pilgrimage for Hindus. Kancherla Gopanna, the Tasildar of Bhadrachalam constructed the temple using public donations but the Golconda Sultans imprisoned him as they were misled to believe that Gopanna misused the government funds to construct the temple. It is believed that Lord Rama and Lakshmana appeared before the Sultan and paid him all the money, after which Gopanna was released. After this, Gopanna became Bhadrachala Ramadasu and composed several songs in Telugu praising Rama.
