    Uttarakhand’s Valley of Flowers is now open for tourists. Usually, the UNESCO World Heritage Site remains open for tourists from June to October. However, for the very first time, the valley remained closed due to the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak. Referring to the opening of the Valley, state government Joshimath SDM, Anil Chanyal announced that tourists from outside the state are also welcome to visit the picturesque valley. He further stated that they need to upload their COVID-19 negative certificate 72 hours before their arrival.

    Things To Be Kept In Mind Before Planning A Visit

    1. Medical Certificate: If you are up for a trek, carry a coronavirus negative certificate issued. Failure of the same will result in being quarantined for seven days.

    2. Connectivity: The 38 kms trek starts from Govindghat and is 11 hours drive from Rishikesh. The closest airport is Dehradun which is currently open for the public to fly down from various cities – Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Ahmedabad.

    3. Safety & Security: Carry basic requirements ensuring a safer ambiance for you such as hand sanitizers, masks, disinfectant, etc.

    According to the reports, the Valley of Flowers welcomes a large number of tourists every year. With the opening of this popular attraction there are speculations of significant improvement in the state tourism industry.

    The gorgeous Valley of Flowers is a UNESCO World Heritage site, situated in the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve. It is famous for its myriad range of multi-coloured flowers such as purple orchids, poppies, daisies and calendulas. The trekker’s paradise is also home to endangered animals like Himalayan musk deer, snow leopard, red fox, and many more Himalayan animals. The valley is visited by the tourists from June to October as it remains snowbound for the rest of the months.
