Rail Route: Daily trains are scheduled at relatively equal intervals between Nairobi and Mombasa. You can hire a taxi or take a bus from Mombasa to Wasini Island. The train journey takes around 6 hours.
Road Route: Wasini Island is 85 kilometres from Mombasa and takes 2 and a half hours to reach via road. Firstly, you can reach Shimoni in 2 hours and head to the Shimoni jetty, where boats depart for Wasini Island. If you are using your private vehicle, be cautious, as you can get a guarded parking space for your car in Shimoni only, for there are no vehicles allowed on Wasini Island.
