Harshvardhan traveled to Mauritius with his wife, Swetha through TravelTriangle. He booked a 7-day honeymoon package that cost him INR 51,100. The package included his hotel stay, breakfast, dinner and his local travel and tour in Mauritius.
I am a software engineer with a curious mind and it is this curiosity that takes me to places. Travel to me is the push one needs when life seems to have lost momentum, it is a process of finding answers and it is the way to rediscover yourself. In a nutshell, travel to me is synonymous to life.
I am a traveler who undertakes journeys to explore new destinations. I had always dreamt of planning a vacation to Mauritius. While planning my honeymoon, I knew my dream was soon going to come true.
Booking The Dream Package
It was Google that helped me fall in love with Mauritius. The exotic images depicting the serene blue sea were enough to have me dreaming about the location. So obviously, there was no second thought about the destination, next in line was the booking.
I searched and searched until I landed on TravelTriangle.com. It provided me with a great package meeting all my touristy demands. Everything was in place, it was now time to fly to Mauritius.
Hello, Mauritius!
Hardly 30 minutes on the Island and its beauty started taking a toll on both my wife, Swetha and me. That is exactly what the scintillating beauty of Mauritius does to you. It provided me with just the satisfaction and peace I needed in life.
Day 1- Leisure Day: Exploring places in and around the hotel
The drive from the airport to our hotel, Tropical Attitude was thoroughly enjoyed by my wife and me. All the exotic images that I had been browsing through since months were coming to life, they were all live in front me.
We reached the hotel at around 2 PM and it was beautiful. It had a private beach which was enough to keep me busy for the day. I relaxed, took a stroll on the private beach and enjoyed the scenic beauty. My curious mind then forced me to explore the nearby places, it was such a delight walking on those streets. A memorable experience indeed!
Day 2- Ile Aux Cerfs and underwater sea walk: Breathtaking experience
The second day of the trip was reserved for the East tour. A visit to Ile Aux Cerfs was the plan for the day. I had read about the mind blowing experience of the underwater sea walk and it was only after witnessing it live that I realized the descriptions were all underrated. The walk was refreshing and one of a kind experience. I would recommend everybody to witness the heavenly experience of the underwater sea walk.
The serene blue beaches at Ile Aux Cerf were the kind of beauty one would want to die for. The beaches were clear blue and were the ones that urged you to take a dive into them. There were various water sports also available at the Ile Aux Cerfs. We enjoyed our East tour a lot, post which we went back to the hotel where we dined and spent some time at the beach. A good day in Mauritius indeed!
Day 3- Sunday: No tour day
My third day in Mauritius being a Sunday was a no tour day, so it was it was a leisure day for us. My wife and I rented bicycles and toured the beautiful island. We took to streets, the weather was perfect and riding the bikes in such a weather was a mind blowing escapade for us.
The food at our hotel was very good so after the bicycle ride we honored ourselves with a special lunch at the hotel. I am a beach person so after taking rest for some time, I again got attracted to the hotel beach and chilled there for a while. Post dinner, we retired for the day.
Day 4- North Tour: Bollywood calling
After breakfast, we left for the North Tour. We toured around the city and went to the Fort, Church, Waterpark Mall and the Caudan Waterfront. The fort was a great place to click pictures. Being a Bollywood fan, these places really excited me as many movies were shot there.
There were moments in the North Tour which made me feel as if this is an entire country all by itself. Then, finally it was time for shopping. We were quite disappointed as the things were very expensive and the quality was quite inferior compared to what we get back home.
Day 5- South Tour: Nothing exciting as such
The experience of the south tour in Mauritius was pretty close to what we witness in India. We went to the dormant volcano, the seven coloured earth, the waterfall and a few other places which according to me weren’t worthy of my time.
I felt that the day could be utilized doing something else. If you skip this from your package, you wouldn’t be missing out on anything.
Day 6- Casela Safari: An adventurous day indeed!
A visit to Casela Natural Park was a great experience. I had booked a Casela Safari which gave us the opportunity to interact with lions and tigers. We got to touch the wild animals, an experience that would stay with me for long. Touching them despite feeling scared, was a mission accomplished. We got to know a lot of insights about animals, things that we were actually unaware about.
We wrapped up the adventurous day by sharing a nice dinner meal at the hotel.
Day 7- Bye Mauritius!
It was my last day in Mauritius and I wanted it to be a memorable one. I did just that by making a reservation for parasailing. If only words could do justice to the amazing experience, I would have penned down the great adventure. But I just can’t, it was unreal!
After that, it was time to go to the airport and fly back home.
I am an adventurer at heart and I couldn’t have ended my Mauritius tour on a better note. I am a little choosy when it comes to picking locations or the kind of trips I take, but my wife is an easy traveler. She finds beauty in everywhere she goes. This trip was special to us because we were getting to know each other.
Being an adventurer, I wanted to plan an adventure honeymoon, I didn’t know she would enjoy it even more than me. We discovered a new side to each other on this trip. Experiencing these adventures for the first time and doing them together was very special, I would recommend an adventure honeymoon in Mauritius to all the newly married couples. Going through the excitement, the thrill and overcoming your fears together is a great feeling altogether. An adventure honeymoon in Mauritius- Add it your bucket list people.
High Points– Parasailing, Scenic beauty in the mornings, Underwater Sea Walk
Low Points– Shopping is very expensive and not at all worth the price. The South Tour is also disappointing.
Tips to Future Travelers
- Avoid the South Tour
- Don’t waste money shopping there, things are overpriced there.
- Don’t miss the parasailing and the Casela safari.
Don’t think, plan your adventure honeymoon in Mauritius now!
