As it is on the island of Bali, the same weather applies as it is for this favourite tourist destination. The weather is good all the time around, and Amed is considered to be particularly dry and hot. The summer is between May and September, and the rainy season is from October to April on this island. 2. Jemeluk Bay Underwater Gallery
While in Amed, underwater adventure is thy name! Head over to the Jemeluk Bay Beach and dive in to find an underwater temple to a galleryyou heard it right a gallery! Right from Apsara to mermaids to a giant baby head, this gallery is the undertaking of The Marine Foundation, a UK-based eco art group and several environmental NGOs. Indonesian artists Wayan Winten and Eddi Prabandono have also contributed to the many sculptures that you will discover underwater. 3. Salt farming

This has been one of the primary activities in the Amed region. You can also spot bundles of salt, being sold on the roads there. The process of salt-making is interesting and takes days. Salt farmers can be seen carrying seawater into one of their salt farms and have set up the production of salt from the water with bamboo cones. It should definitely be on your to-do list while you are in Amed. You could also pick up salt even take to take back home; where else will you find salt in its purest form-

4. Tirta Gangga Water Palace

Located in the middle of Spring Embungan and merely a ride of about 20 minutes from Amed, the water palace is a place of tranquillity and beauty. There are bodies of water in the midst of greenery and flanked by sculptures of Hindu gods and goddesses. You can also get a glimpse of the famous and intricate Balinese architecture. Once you enter Amed, you will see the coastline dotted with colourful fishing boats; they are called Jukung. Spark up a conversation with the locals there and they will more than happy to offer you a ride on their fishing boats. It will something like a backwater ride for you and you will love the whole ambience. Evenings would be the best time to do this, as it would be rather hot in the daytime to have a leisurely cruise.

The best way to get to know a place is to randomly take-off and explore the the town. Hire a motorbike, which is the best mode of transport in this area to get around, and ride around the town. The island of Bali is abundant with high rise rice fields and you can find it everywhere around the island. The hillside rice terraces are in a way unique to this region, the way they are grown here. Amed beach in Bali is accessible through many ways. It is just a three-hour drive from the Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali. There are taxis available from the airport, which you can hire. There are also regular shuttle buses from Candidasa and Lovina and the road is great to drive down. But, the safest and the most comfortable way to reach Amed is to hire your own transport with a driver.
You could come through the sea route. The Amed Sea Express has pick-up points in Lombok, Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air. The cruise is amazing and you should definitely try that, at least, one way.
