About Skyline Luge Sentosa
Skyline Luge Sentosa is located on the Imbiah Lookout cluster opposite the Tiger Sky Tower. It has 4 different luge tracks with the first one named as the Jungle Trail – 628 meters (2,060 ft); the second one named as Dragon Trail – 688 meters (2,257 ft); the third one is named as Kupu Kupu Trail – 638 meters (2,093 ft); and the fourth and the last one is named as Expedition Trail – 658 meters (2159 ft). The very first trail, The Jungle Trail is the oldest one too, followed by the Dragon Trail and the Kupu Kupu and Expedition trails.
The luge is a car system that is self-driven and requires the riders to control the speed. The speed can be controlled by moving a pair of handlebars back and forth. The track goes downhill and the luge moves forward due to the gravitational pull. And after you have reached the lowermost end of the track, Skyride brings the riders back to the starting point of the track through chairlifts. the 315 meters long Skyride also brings back the luge carts and the helmets back to the starting point. This place has 2 Skyride systems that are functional for now and the ride is similar to a ski lift. And if you are an adventure seeker, you can challenge your limits by navigating through the Jungle trail. The Dragon trail is even more thrilling after which you can try one of their two brand new Luge tracks – Kupu Kupu (638m) and Expedition (658m) that offers a topsy-turvy-track ride through the lush mystical forest. The whole journey would last for 2.6 kilometers and is absolutely fun.
A ride on the Skyline is also just as exciting as the Luge ride in Sentosa. This 4-seater chairlift offers to you a rare bird’s eye view of the Singapore skyline and the South China Sea. The thrill of viewing this gorgeous island from a height with a beautiful scenic view is simply breathtaking. You may also spot some Cheeky cockatoos on your journey. The Skyline ride is best experienced at night as the ride turns into a more romantic experience. The sight of the star-lit sky and glimpses of the stunning Wings of Time show will add more fun to the whole journey. Taking the Skyline ride is equally amazing for families as it is suitable for riders of all age groups and is one of the top things to do in Sentosa. Skyline Luge was invented 33 years ago in Rotorua, New Zealand and has hosted more than 45 million rides at different parts of the world.
