Located in the Kui Buri District in the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan, Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park is a park as well as a marine park in Thailand. Covering an enormous area of 98.08 sq km, the combined biodiversity park has 20.88 sq km as a marine park and the rest as a National Park, which includes the marshes nearby. Khao Sam Roi Yot takes its name from the skyrocketing limestone mountains that surround the park. The name of the park in English translates to: the mountain with three hundred peaks.
About Kho Sam Roi Yot National Park
Established in 1966, Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park was the first coastal national park of Thailand. The Park also includes the biggest freshwater marsh of Thailand. Located just about 70 km south of Hua Hin along the south-western coast of Thailand, this place is a combination of various types of ecosystems. Blessed with a combination of Limestone Mountains, Caves, Beaches, freshwater marshes, offshore islands, and mangrove swamps, this is one of the best nature reserves in the world because such diversity is not seen in many places around the world. Although not really known for its biodiversity, the National Park is home to about 316 species of birds and around 50 species of animals.

Best Time to Visit Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park
While the national park is open all seasons like any other national park, the best season to visit the park is in the winters due to the abundance of migratory birds at the Park. December is the best month to visit the park and the best time to visit is between 4 PM – 5 PM. The park would take an average of 1.5-2 hours of your time. Places to Stay Near Kho Sam Roi Yot National Park
Though there is no closing time for the non-forested part of the park, most of the major attractions are open until 5 PM. We advise you to stay a night and experience nature in all its glory. The places where you can spend a night are mentioned below:
1. Government Tents and Camps
There are two places where tents are set up by the government for those who wish to stay through the night. You can rent a tent on Laem Sala Beach and Sam Phraya Beach for as less as 150 THB for 2 people, 225 THB for 3 people and 300 THB for 5 people. You can also rent sleeping kits for about 80 THB per person.

The Bungalows are located near the headquarters and there are only 2 available for rent. One is for 1000 THB for 5 people, while the other is for 1400 THB for 5 people. Also, you can avail discounts if you book between Mon-Thu from the Government Portal.
