Reaching Chichen Itza in Mexico, one of the seven wonders in the world, just got easier and more lucrative. Thanks to Mexico’s Maya Train that will soon help travellers to explore the parts of the Yucatan Peninsula where this seventh wonder is located.
The Mexican government is planning to relaunch the traditional Mayan Route to make the public transport convenient for the tourists who come to explore the exquisite Yucatan Peninsula. The new Mexican train route will connect the cities of Chichen Itza, Cancun, and Tulum, along with the other cities on the peninsula.
Yucatan Peninsula was once dwelled by one of the powerful civilizations in the world- Mayans (Yep, the same people who predicted 2012 to be the end of the world according to a popular misconception!). The region owes its touristic popularity to Chichen Itza’s El Callisto, the gigantic staircase pyramid which is also the seventh wonder of the world, and several scattered ruins of Mayans around.
Once the project is completed, tourists can take a Mexico Tour around the country and visit not just the famous places en route but also explore the off beaten tracks around the coast.
