Pankaj’s 4 night/5 days family trip to Andaman gave him a valuable lesson about the true essence of traveling in today’s world.Read in-depth about his inspirational story coming back from a much needed digital detox.
For our annual vacation, my wife and I were planning a trip to Mauritius or Maldives. However, we couldn’t finalize on a destination, and that’s when my sister recommended that we all should go together on a family trip to Andaman. Having experienced the customized holiday experience before, she recommended that I try the same.
I contacted TravelTriangle for quotes, and the price they offered on the Andaman tour package was the most economical among all the competitors in the market. After some back-and-forth, I finally got a tailor-made itinerary at a great price from Holiday Planner agency for my Andaman tour package.
As I wanted this vacation to be more about relaxation and staying away from the herd, I tweaked my package to keep lesser days on the popular Havelock Island.
Trip Cost: INR 60,500
Trip Duration: 4 nights/5 days
Agent Name: Holiday Planner
Inclusions: Transfers, accommodation, breakfast, sightseeing, ferry tickets, and snorkeling
Exclusions: Flights, meals, and tour guides
There were many reasons why I could not wait to go on this family trip to Andaman. It was a chance for me to spend some quality time with my family.
On the other hand, I was giving myself a much-needed break from the tiresome work that kept me glued to my mobile, laptop, and tablet.

Over the past few years, not only did I adapt to the nuances of the technology, but it also became an irreplaceable part of my daily functioning.
Although it was a family trip to Andaman, I would like to recollect the best memories and experiences I encountered, as I saw incredible clarity in my thought process, while I was away from all the technology.
Here’s how a lot of small things that happened to me on this vacation brought me an entirely different kind of fulfillment from travel.
Planning your holiday in Andaman but confused about what to do? These Andaman travel stories help you find your best trip ever!
Real travel stories. Real stays. Handy tips to help you make the right choice.
1. No mobile network, no problem!
Once we took the flight for our family trip to Andaman, I was consciously stepping away from the web of digital communication that occupied all of my time and efforts. In places like Havelock and Neil Island, the unavailability of mobile network signals gave me a chance to concentrate on exploring the lush green landscape.
2. Witnessing the real world around me for a change
At times, on this family trip to Andaman, when there was no Facebook, Whatsapp, or Gmail to look at, I would notice other things around me such as the intricate details in the timeless beauty of nature.
For five days, not knowing if my phone had new messages, or not knowing if it were in my pocket at all relieved me of a significant burden of responsibility my professional life had given me.
3. Heart-to-heart talks with strangers
Even during the bad experiences of our trip, I managed to derive something good. My family and I didn’t like the quality of food being served at Radhanagar Beach Resort. Therefore, all of us had to walk for 2 km to arrive at the ‘Something Different’ beachside cafe. The place stood up to its name as the food served at the restaurant was much better than anything we had in Havelock.
The owner and I struck a friendly conversation in which we got to appreciate each other and our respective backgrounds. As it was almost 10 pm, the owner was kind enough to arrange a car free of cost, to drop all six of us back to the hotel. This small but significant gesture made me feel right at home in Andaman.
4. Exploring the beautiful and silent underwater world

On the first day of our family trip to Andaman, we traveled to the North Bay where I partook in scuba diving. The one-hour session of scuba diving, where I witnessed marine life was absolutely amazing.
I had previously tried scuba diving in Goa, but that experience didn’t even come close to this experience. It was a priceless memory I took back with me from my stimulating family trip to Andaman.
