    One of the most popular places to visit near Tsuen Wan, Ocean Park is a marine mammal park, oceanarium, animal theme park, and amusement park which was founded way back in 1977 by the erstwhile Hong Kong Governor, Sir Murray MacLehose. There are more than 35 attractions and rides in this park.     3. Chuk Lam Sim Monastery

    One of the best places to go in Tsuen Wan, this is a famous monastery that calmly sits in a bucolic setting outside the tourist circuit. It was first constructed in 1932 by an old monk and was then known as the Bamboo Forest Monastery which was basically created from carving out a hillside with six disciples. All the things that you will see in the complex today, including the Buddhist frescoes, miniature landscapes and fish ponds, were added in the subsequent years.

    4. Sam Tung Uk Museum

    This museum really is a tourist delight and displays the traditional rural life as it was lived in the latter part of the 18th century in this Hakka walled village. The residents were a part of the Chan Clan and stayed in three-beamed houses and everything traditional: ranging from the furnishings and kitchenware to wedding items and agricultural tools.

    5. Western Monastery

    One of the most highly recommended Tsuen Wan tourist attractions is the Western Monastery which was built in 1970’s in a village called Lo Wai, which is one of the oldest villages in Tsuen Wan. This is a quiet and serene complex which has been designed as a traditional Chinese palace and will automatically take you to a period movie set! The halls inside the complex are huge and spacious and are connected to one another by stairs that run up a hillside. There is a tiny little garden near the entrance which is full of lush flora, Bodhisattva grottos and reclining Buddhas.

    6. Chuen Lung Koon Man School

    This village school comes in all lists that talk about the famous places to see in Tsuen Wan. This space is a studio cum exhibition area for all local artists and the project has been given a very interesting name: ‘Hi! Hill’. The project features the coming together of various villagers and designers, writers, and photographers with one common motive: to promote the history and culture of Chuen Lung Village. The most popular events organised here include rustic poetry writing and recital, making teacups with local clay, and guided tours.

    7. Tin Hau Temple

    One of the best places to visit in Tsuen Wan remains the Tin Hau Temple which was constructed long ago in the 18th century. An interesting fact is that the temple has retained the original bell and stele from the Qing dynasty. The Tin Hau temple complex comprises of 5 different temples. It comprises a row of five adjacent buildings: a Tin Hau Temple, a Shing Wong Temple, a Kwun Yum temple, Shea Tan and Hsu Yuen.
