Boon Keng is the smallest subzone of Kallang. The place covers a total area of 0.41 square kilometers (0.16 sq mi). Boon Keng is named after Dr. Lim Boon Keng who was a prominent personality in Singapore history. The nine subzones that make up the planning area – Kallang are Bendemeer, Geylang Bahru, Kampong Bugis, Tanjong Rhu, Kallang Bahru, Crawford, Lavender, Kampong Java, and Boon Keng.
Boong Keng is surrounded by the Pelton Canal in the north; Sims Avenue in the south; the Kallang–Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) and Sims Way in the East; and the Kallang River in the West. Boon Keng is primarily a residential area. This place can be reached via Kallang MRT station on the East West Line, that serves Boon Keng. This subzone also consists of the Geylang West Community Club.
