Many people ponder upon finding the right balance between luxury and adventure. People like Sagar and Sweety just do it with a snap of their fingers. Take a glance at their romantic trip to Mauritius which cost them a total of INR 1,31,00 including their flights, accommodation, transfers, sightseeing and meals.
My wife and I were looking for a luxurious but decently priced holiday to a foreign country. Mauritius, was a perfect fit for all that we wanted from a destination, so we were sorted as far the destination was concerned.
While searching holiday packages for Mauritius, I came across the TravelTriangle website. It gave us the option of customizing the tour package according to our needs.
I submitted a query with TravelTriangle and promptly got a call from a travel representative. He understood my requirements and connected me to various agents. I started receiving multiple quotes from all the agents from which I could choose the most competitive price. I selected the best deal given to me by ‘I Need Trip’ agency.
It was time to let go of the daily hassles and fly to our first international vacation. The excitement for our romantic trip to Mauritius was bursting at the surface.
Day 1: Flying into Port Louis
We boarded our flight from Mumbai at 6.30 am and arrived in Mauritius at noon. The driver was on time and was waiting for us. It was a smooth ride to the hotel. We checked in at the charming Anelia Beach Resort at 3 pm.
After receiving a warm welcome, we decided to rest in the hotel for a while. In the evening, we took a stroll at the beach while enjoying the lovely breeze blowing across our faces. Later on, we returned to the hotel for dinner and rested for the night.
Day 2: A heavenly lagoon and a magical waterfall

We woke up early with enthusiasm to begin exploring Mauritius. Post breakfast, the cab driver took us to the harbor from where we took a boat to Ile Aux Cerf. Before reaching there, a lot of people told us that we were about to witness few of the best beaches in the world.
As the boat circled around, the first view of the island we got were breathtaking. The view of the lagoon was absolutely mesmerizing. We got off the boat and immediately started to explore the island. After having our packed lunch, we proceeded towards the waterfall.
The visit to the waterfall felt like a cherry on top of the experience at Ile Aux Cerf. Alas, we returned back to Port Louis at 5pm. We returned to the hotel tired, and hence decided to have dinner and fall asleep.
Day 3: North Island Tour
The next day, we got ready for the North Island Tour. At 9 am, after breakfast, the driver was present to pick us up for the tour.
The tour started with a visit to Port Louis where in we covered all the famous monuments. We started with a peek into the old colonial architecture at the Place D’Armes, followed by Champ de Mars Racecourse, and the exotic Caudan Waterfront Mall.
The tour got over at 5 pm and we were dropped back at the resort by the cab. In the evening, we decided to relax at the resort, have a meal and put our feet up for the night.
Day 4: Shopping mania in Port Louis
We woke up late on our leisure day. As we had nothing planned for the day, we took the liberty to convert our breakfast into a tasty brunch. I really need to thank the resort staff who were so kind to do the same.
Post brunch, we decided to go for some shopping on the streets of Port Louis. Fair to say, that my wife got into a shopping frenzy that was hard to stop. I couldn’t blame her, the markets and the stuff available was really amazing.
We took a cab back to the resort at 6 pm. We enjoyed the evening with some light live music and tasty sea food.
Day 5: Discovering the beautiful Curepipe

The next day we woke up early, had breakfast, and got ready for the South Island tour. The most scenic places in mainland Mauritius awaited us that day.
The tour started with a visit to Trou Aux Cerfs, the crater of an extinct volcano. After which, we went to Grand Bassin where we took blessings at the massive and tall Lord Shiva statue made for the hindus residing in Mauritius.
Post lunch, we witnessed the delightful colored earth rocks at Chamarel followed by a visit to the city center of Curepipe. Throughout the day, we clicked a lot of pictures and bought a few souvenirs. The tour ended at 5 pm, after which we returned to the resort.
Day 6 & 7: Sweet nothings and a memorable goodbye
After being done with the sightseeing and things to do in Mauritius, the final two days were all to ourselves. On the penultimate day, post breakfast, we decided to relax at the resort. Using the facilities at the resort like the pool and the spa was definitely a good idea. It was a day which I spent with my wife and we both loved it. Spending time and getting to understand one another even more is something which I will cherish forever.
Finally, we arrived at the final day of our dream romantic trip to Mauritius. Post breakfast, we checked out from the hotel at noon. However, as our flight was scheduled to depart at 11 pm, we left our bags at the resort to visit the beach and the city one final time.
The taxi arrived at the Anelia Resort at 5pm to take us to the airport. We arrived at the airport a few hours later and boarded our 11pm flight back to Mumbai.
If I were to summarize Mauritius in it’s entirety, I would love to summarize it in two words- ‘ Good vibes’. Right from landing in Port Louis to exploring the scenic beauty Mauritius has to offer, Mauritius feels like a place untouched by fear, worry or anxiety. To visit this heavenly place with my wife was a true blessing I would always cherish.
