    You will have to pass by a dense forest to get to the waterfall and even then you will be surrounded by the forest on all sides. You can even go swimming in some of the more shallow or deeper pools or go cliff jumping during the in-season. This is one of the most popular waterfalls in Hanoi because tourists love hiking, swimming and having picnics here.

    This powerful waterfall is one of the best waterfalls in Vietnam. Ban Gioc waterfall in Hanoi has 3 distinct tiers that pour into a beautiful lake. The unique part about this waterfall is that it is on the border of China and Vietnam. So if you are in Vietnam, you get to see one side of it that is surrounded by plenty of trees and rocks on the hills. You will also get a great view of the surrounding rice fields and bamboo plantations. It is one of the best waterfalls near Hanoi.

    If you are tired of exploring the city and op want a break, this is the place to be. Mu waterfall is in a location that is surrounded by ruins and a dense forest. You can travel by a tuk-tuk but after that, you will have to take a walk and then hike to get to this waterfall, like most hidden gems, it isn’t easily found.

    4. Elephant Falls

    You will be surrounded by the mountains and beautiful jungles before you come upon this powerful waterfall that falls on the rocks below. You can then climb down a steel ladder and explore the bottom of the waterfall and the cave behind it or head further downstream to get a better view of its alluring beauty.

    Location: Nam Ban Village
    Timings: 7 AM – 5 PM
    Entry fee: INR 31

    Tip: You can get even closer to this waterfall if you feel adventurous but the trails are quite rough, so it wouldn’t be advisable.

    5. Datanla

    This is one of the more popular waterfalls in Hanoi Vietnam. It is a popular tourist destination because there are parking space and even a small shop where you can purchase some great souvenirs. One can take a rollercoaster from the top to the base of the waterfalls to get a better view. Once you are at the bottom of the waterfall you can enjoy the dense jungle and the wildlife and birds that live there.

    Timings: 7 AM – 5 PM

    Tip: The rollercoaster ride usually has a long line because a lot of people only visit to experience the ride, so if you want to skip the line take the longer road down but be well equipped.

    6. Pongour Waterfall

    This waterfall has multi-layers and you can even get behind the waterfalls for a better view. You have to cross over a few rocks to get closer and to get a great view of the white fluffy clouds that almost seem to be rising out from the top of the falls. After you have cooled off and relaxed you can head back and visit some souvenir stalls and food stalls to enjoy the delicious cuisine of Vietnam.

    Timings: 7 AM – 5 PM

    7. Giang Den waterfall

    The waterfall is a wide one and has clear water that pours into smaller ponds and lakes. There are a lot of picnic tables here if you want to spend the day taking a break from city life. You can even pay for a campsite and spend the night listening to the peaceful waters and being one with nature. You can visit the restaurant nearby if you are hungry.

    Location: Giang Den community, 104 Hoa Binh, Trang Bom
    Timings: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
    Entry fee: INR 158

    Tip: Avoid visiting during the weekend to stay away from crowds.

    8. Thac Tac Tinh Waterfall

    This simple waterfall is one of the best waterfalls around Hanoi which is like a hidden gem in the Dao village. You can watch the water cascade and pour down various rocks as it falls between a mountain area. The word ‘Tinh’ means love and it refers to a tale of forbidden love that happened in the same village and it ended when the woman jumped into the waterfall.

    Location: Tam Duong, Lai Chau

    Tip: Visiting during the rainy season is best because you will be able to see the waterfall in full force.

    9. Dambri Falls

    This is one of the largest waterfalls near Hanoi Vietnam that has a great view. The force of the water stays powerful throughout the year. You can stay at the bottom where there is a small gazebo-like restaurant for people to sit and enjoy the cool breeze or you can take an elevator to the top of the falls and get an even better view.

    Location: Thon 14, Bao Loc, Lam Dong
    Timings: 6:30 AM – 5 PM
    Entry fee: INR 474

    Tip: Try to visit during the dry season as most of the access will be blocked because of the rains.

    10. Khe Van Waterfall

    This waterfall has 3 tiers and the first flow down a cliff and into a beautiful stream and then divides into 2 streams and cascades over the boulders. This is a great place to relax because it is surrounded by a lot of greenery and the local houses are located at a distance.

    Location: Huc Dong, Binh lieu, Quang Ninh
    Timings: 12 AM – 11:30 PM
    Entry fee: INR 31
