Maldives has always been a honeymoon or couple destination but Tooshar Saraswat’s family proved it the other way by planning a family trip to Maldives. Yes, Tooshar was looking for a beautiful destination to spend some memorable time with his family and chose his destination as Maldives. Tooshar wants to share his experience about the trip and TravelTriangle. So, let us take a look at what Tooshar has to say about his trip for 5 days in Maldives in his own words.

I have been quite busy with work for some time and was not able to spend some quality time with my family. So, I looked for a naturally beautiful location away from the hustle-bustle of the metropolitan cities and locked Maldives as our family vacation destination. Moreover, it is close to Kochi and does not require a visa which made it a hassle-free destination to go to. Next, I looked for all-in-one packages for family that included water activities too. I stumbled upon TravelTriangle’s website and loved the part that they gave a chance to curate our own itinerary, according to our own budget. So, I selected a package and surprised my family with the vacation plan. I am sharing all the details and my experience with all the fellow travelers. If you are also planning a vacation to Maldives then check out our experience and plan your own getaway like we did.

Weather In Maldives In July

Although considered as a wet season, the weather in Maldives during the month of July was pleasant and sunny. We witnessed clear skies on some days with a spell of might showers on some day. It was an ideal to explore Maldives and indulge in water activities. My wife and my daughter enjoyed a lot while swimming and on the beach too. The days were perfect for beach days and for soaking in the warmth of the sun.

A Glimpse Of The Activities We Indulged In

Here are all the activities that we opted for on our family trip to Maldives. Take a look at these pictures and make sure that you also include them in your itinerary for thrilling excursion.

1. Marveled At The Colorful Marine Life While Snorkeling

witnessed the beauty of the place
evening view at the villa

One of the best parts about Maldives is its beaches and water activities. No Maldives trip is complete without taking a dive in the water so how can our trip be complete without indulging in snorkeling and other activities? So, we included this water sports and bought snorkel set from Kochi itself owing to which we were able to snorkel for 3-4 hours per day. The experience cannot be conveyed in words as the beauty of marine life that we witnessed was beyond any comparison.

2. Admired The Shark Feeding Show

Like many private resorts in Maldives, our resort too conducted a Shark Feeding Activity & Show wherein guests are allowed to feed the sharks that are easily visible in the crystal clear water. In the evening, we went near the restaurant and saw reef sharks and stingray playing around. The feeding activity started and a staff member from the resort started to throw pieces of meat into the water which were being grabbed by the sharks. Within a few seconds, the number of sharks doubled and we were able to see more of them. My daughter was very excited after watching them and we clicked pictures for memories.

3. Splashed Water In The Swimming Pool

huge property to roam around
spacious villas

Since our resort was equipped with a swimming pool, we decided to spend a day in leisure and stayed in the water till we got tired. My daughter loved to splash water here & there and seemed like she was having a great time. We captured these moments in photographs so as to cherish them forever. We also went for some shopping on the premises of the resort which is briefly discussed below.

Sun Island Resort & Spa – Our Temporary Stay

For 5 days in Maldives, we stayed in a 4-star resort that provided all the world-class amenities that we could think of. The property was huge, the room was spacious, and exceptional room service. Our room was equipped with the latest amenities like tea & coffee making facility, free WiFi, welcome drinks, and what nots. Apart from this, there was a beachside pool with a bar, sports center, and water sport activity facilities in the resort. Our overall stay was superb and the best part of the resort was the quick service and humble behavior of the staff.

Shopping In Maldives

We did not indulge much in shopping however we did check out some shops near our resort and at the airport. We found that there was a huge difference in the price of the items. The items at the airport were costlier that the items at the local shops. We checked out one shop on the resort premises which goes by the name Curio Shop.

Since it was a relaxing getaway to Maldives with family, I made sure that we indulged in all the activities. So, we spent $300 on water sport activities which was totally worth it and we all enjoyed a lot. Along with this, we also went for shopping and spend another $300 on a shop in the resort. It was a memorable trip for all of us away from all the work and tension.
