To get to Deepak Tal, one must go through Manali, and then he can reach Keylong. You don’t need to travel to Leh for this at all. The construction of the Atal Tunnel has now brought down the distance and travelling time between Manali and Keylong. If you were in Manali for a vacation, arranging for the Deepak Tal and Baralacha La tour is not a big issue. One can take a Leh-bound bus from Manali or Keylong, but you are only dropped at Deepak Tal, and no arrangements are made for your back. Thus, if you must travel by road, you should take a private taxi or a motorcycle to Manali before going to Lahaul Valley.
