Inaugurated in 1998, the Gulmarg Gondola ride is a 5 km long cable car ride overlooking the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas and pine forests. The ride is divided into two parts: Phase 1 (elevation of 2600 metres) and Phase 2 ( elevation of 3950 metres). It was built by the collaboration of the government of Jammu and Kashmir and the French company Pomagalski. The Kashmir Gondola ride is a scenic getaway transferring you to a snow wonderland for 2 to 3 hours. The first phase is 9 minutes and goes from Gulmarg to Kungdoor. The second phase continues from Kongdori to Apharwat Peak. This thrilling ride takes around 12 to 14 minutes offering mesmerising views of the mountains. The Kashmir Gondola ride is open from 10 AM to 5 PM. Children below the age of 10 are allowed on chairlifts. Those above the age of 12 will have to pay for the full ticket. The entry fees for each phase are as follows:

  • Phase 2 (chairlift): INR 300
