After a long wait of eight months, travelers can expect international flights to resume in Sri Lanka very soon. The country closed its international airports in mid-March to tackle the spread of Coronavirus. There had been news of lifting travel restrictions in May and August, however, the plans were delayed as other countries were going through a surge in cases.

According to the latest news, the Civil Aviation Authorities of Sri Lanka said that it would be issuing directives to the travel industry on the opening of Sri Lanka’s airspace for commercial and charter flight operations.   • Avoid mass gatherings for social, ceremonial, and religious ceremonies
  • Avoid crowded places
