The chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav (session 2012–2017) laid the foundation stone of the park on 6 August 2012. It was developed with a cost of 168 crores. The esteemed School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi has created the development and architectural plan. There is a lengthy, winding walkway throughout the park. It is Asia’s largest park which spans over 376 acres and offers various attractions. It is operated by the Lucknow Development Authority. It was named in memory of the late politician Janeshwar Mishra from the Samajwadi Party. The park has a 25-foot-tall statue of the Late Mr. Janeshwar Mishra which was designed and sculpted by Edward Breathitt, a renowned Writer, Fine Art Artist & Sculptor from the USA.

Ambedkar Memorial Park, formally known as Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Prateek Sthal, is a public park and memorial in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. This enormous park dedicated to our independence heroes charges a small fee. The entry fee to visit the park is INR 20 per person. It is open from 11 am to 9 pm daily. Sprawling across an area of 107 acres in Gomti Nagar, the Ambedkar Memorial Park was built to commemorate the dedication of reformers like Dr BR Ambedkar, Jyotiba Phule, Sree Narayana Guru, Kanshi Ram, Birsa Munda, Shahuji Maharaj and many others, towards equality, humanity and justice. The foundation stone of the memorial was first laid in 1995. Earlier, the park was named Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Udyan. In 2002, it was renamed the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial and development work continued until 2002–03. In 2007, the park underwent further renovation and development. It was initially opened to the public on 14 April 2008 by Chief Minister Mayawati.

Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Park is developed by the Lucknow Development Authority in the Vipin Khand area of Gomti Nagar locality in memory of great socialist Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia. Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Park is open all days of the week from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. The entry fee for adults is 5 INR. It is a charmingly lovely park with so many fragrant flowers, trees, plenty of grass and a long walking track along the perimeter. Right from the entrance are pathways in various directions of the park, along with natural mounds, a flower nursery and other areas. It looks like a light spreading in various directions.
