- By Air: The nearest airport to Kudremukh is Mangalore International Airport (IXE), about 150 km away. You can hire a taxi or cab from Mangalore to reach Kalasa and then a jeep to Mullodi village.
- By Train: If you prefer travelling by train the closest major railway station is Hassan Junction (HAS) situated 100 km from Kudremukh. Arrange for a taxi or cab from Hassan, to Kalasa. Then proceed by jeep to Mullodi village.
After reaching Kudremukh, here’s how to get to the trek’s starting point:
- Take a bus to Kudremukh and leave at Balegal, 10.5 Km from Kalasa. A private jeep can be hired from the Balegal bus stop for about ₹600 for eight people.
- The distance from Kalasa to the base of the Kudremukh trek is about 10Kms. The bus fare is ₹20. If you’re with a group, you can get off at Balegal. The timings are 24 hours a day. From there, you can hire a jeep that will drop you off at the forest office for permission and then take you to the base camp of the Kudremukh trek.
