1. Hungarian National Museum
This is the oldest museum in Hungary and also the most interesting one in the city of Budapest. The museum was built during 1837 to 1847 and has a collection of historical artifacts dating back to the Arpad dynasty to the days of communism. The museum building itself is a huge neoclassical edifice. The museum tympanum is decorated with sculpture works of Raffaelo Monti. In the present day, the museum holds over a million items that thoroughly illustrate the history of Hungary. The main collections of the museum is displayed on the second level of the building, it has artifacts from the 10th century up to the beginning of the Arpad dynasty.

2. Museum of Hungarian Agriculture
The Hungarian Museum of Agriculture is situated inside the Vajdahunyad Castle and it’s the largest museum of its kind in entire Europe. The museum was built during the end of the 19th century and hosts both temporary and permanent exhibitions. The permanent exhibition showcases the agriculture, hunting practices, fishing, farming and wine-making etc. the museum also has the skeleton of the famous Hungarian race horse, Kincsem in display.

3. Koller Gallery

5. Budapest History Museum
Budapest History Museum is located inside the famous Royal Castle and this museum is dedicated to acknowledge people with the history of the now capital city. Budapest was formed by the congruence of three cities, Buda, Obuda and Pest. The museums displays artefacts and relics uncovered from local excavations. The oldest relic displayed in the museum dates back to about 40,000 years back. Findings from new excavation excursions keep adding to the museum and the museum can be visited to see the medieval ruins and Castle Hill.

6. Ludwig Museum

7. Holocaust Memorial Center
This is a Jewish heritage museum, this memorial center pays tribute to all the victims of the Hungarian holocaust. The memorial center was inaugurated in 2004 and includes a museum, a synagogue and a glass memorial wall with the names of the 5000,000 victims inscribed on the wall. The permanent exhibition of the museum showcases the history of the holocaust and many original personal belongings of the Jewish community in Hungary.

Founded in 1896 and started in 1906, Museum of Fine Arts in Hungary displays many visual artworks from throughout Europe.
