This Sun Temple was constructed in 1026 AD in the reign of King Bhimdev. The temple is dedicated to Sun God and is a magnificent sample of the excellent architectural construct in that century. When Britishers tried to force in an attempt to demolish the temple, millions of wasps appeared out of nowhere and surrounded the temple to protect it. The wasp would attack any labor that was sent by Britishers to demolish the temple and hence they could not succeed.

This is one of the main shrines of Goddess Arasuri Ambe. The Goddess is said to be established here since the times before Vedas and is in the lap of Arasur Hills, near to the Saraswati river.
