Goa is to India, what Miami is to USA. Rajiv along with his family, went to the mecca of Indian vacations for some sun, sand and relaxation. Read as he shares what attracted him to Go Goa, again. Having booked his package via Travel Triangle for INR 57000 which included his flights, accommodation, sightseeing, transfers, breakfast and dinner.

Working through a monotonous routine and then eventually waiting for that time of the year when you can leave it all aside and enjoy a week in zen and comfort. I really admire Goa as a travel destination, and I finally got an opportunity to plan a family trip to Goa. While searching for travel websites on the internet, I stumbled upon Travel Triangle which was by far the neatest and the most user-friendly experience.

Rajiv Jain and family in Goa

Soon enough as I requested for quotes for a package I liked, a representative from Travel Triangle contacted me and connected me with multiple agents from whom I could select the best deal. We were ready to fly after taking a travel package from Aeroplane Hospitality.

Day 1: Arriving in Goa

Rajiv Jain in De Alturas Resort

We boarded our flight from the Domestic Airport in New Delhi and arrived in Goa around 3pm in the afternoon. The excitement could be seen on my wife and my child’s face as soon as the flight was about to hit the landing gear in Goa. After arriving, we met our travel agency representative, who took us to the hotel.

Walk in the evening at Candolim Beach, Goa.

Although it was raining the day we arrived, we couldn’t resist a quick walk on the Candolim Beach in the evening as the urge to explore Goa was very high. We returned to the hotel for dinner and then called it a night.

We woke up early morning to have a quick breakfast and then went to enjoy some family time in the hotel pool. Around 10 am, we departed from the hotel for the North Goa tour. The tour began with a drive to the Fort Aguada. It is a lovely fort built by the Portuguese which overlooks the Arabian Sea.

Continuing the tour, we visited the variety of beaches that North Goa has to offer. Starting off with the Anjuna Beach moving on to Calangute and then eventually ending with Coco Beach. By the time our tour winded up, it was already dark. We headed back to the hotel for a good night’s sleep after a tiring yet fun-filled day.

Day 3: South Goa Tour

Our third day began with a delicious breakfast in the hotel. Post which, we proceeded for the South Goa tour which began with the blessings of the Gods both Hindu and Christian alike. It was a calming and fulfilling experience  with my family to visit Shantadurga Temple, Shri Manguesh Temple and finally Old Goa Basilica of Bom Jesus. For lunch, we made a halt at Old Goa and then, later on, we visited the magnificent Dona Paula Jetty which is renowned for its cool breeze and scenic views. Our day ended with shopping in the local Panjim market after which we returned to the hotel and called it a day.

Day 4: Filmi Chakkar

Filmi Chakkar in Goa

One of the upcoming and famous tourist hotspots for the people flocking by the thousands everyday to Goa is the Bollywood Tour or also known as the Filmi Chakkar. The localities in Goa have collated a tour of all the spots within Goa where a famous Bollywood movie has been shot. As we were taken one by one to the movie locations, my wife and I tried to test each other’s knowledge and memory with all the various movies.

Dance performance on Boat Ride in Mandovi River

After the Filmi Chakkar, we had some free time on our hands. So, we decided to book a boat tour on the Mandovi River. This was one of the most enjoyable and peaceful moments we had in our family trip to Goa.

Day 5: Exploring Panjim

The 5th day of our vacation was a leisure day. An opportunity for us to unwind, relax and create some happy memories with the family. The day began as always with breakfast. The food I must comment was really nice during our entire visit to Goa.

Rajiv and his family enjoying the rainy day

Traditionally, being a coastal area, Goa is known for its seafood. But it was pleasant to experience good vegetarian food as well. In the afternoon we decided to take the local Ferry in Panjim and then visit the Mapusa Market. To our surprise, we found a lot of tourists along with local people in the market due to it being renowned for having good bargain buys.

As evening settled in, we traveled back to the Hotel, had dinner and retired for the night.

Day 6: Departure

Rajiv Jain and his family leaving with happy memories.

Our final day was upon us, but we still had the eagerness to take one dip in the pool before we leave. The time we spent in the hotel swimming pool in Goa was very delightful. I could see my son, enjoy that part of the day a lot. After enjoying brunch, we were packed and ready to go.

We were transferred to the Airport in the afternoon, where we boarded our flight to Delhi.

Having visited Goa before, I had an idea of what the experience in this party state is like. But this time, the vacation had a different type of enjoyment and satisfaction. To spend quality time with my family in a place like Goa is something I would surely do once again.
