You will be amazed at the impeccable architectural structure of this large, yet simple palace, where the ruler and his family lived. The house serves as proof of how open the ruler was with his life and the close relationship he had with the people of Dubai, and that is visible from the proximity of the mansion to the surrounding houses in the area, as well as the external structure of the house, that has no barriers or large fences, providing a very warm and inviting ambience to the palace.

The inside of the house, though does not look very spacious from the outside, is very large and open, and is an exemplary piece of architectural design that wanted to focus on the simplicity of life. Like the other houses in Dubai, this palace was directed towards the Mecca, which showed the religious devotion of the family. Some of the other religious factors in this house include the guest room being one the first rooms you find located on the right side of the house, which is considered to be the more auspicious side in the Islamic religion. The kitchen was placed in the southern part of the house as to let the air ventilation prevent the steams and smokes from spreading to the rest of the house. A visit to this house will really make you admire the simplicity of the ruler and will clearly reflect the philosophy and outlook on life of the great Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum.
