We wanted to go on a family vacation and were looking for a place that would offer my son, Ankit, entertainment and fun, and my wife and I, some good nightlife experience. Fortunately for us, Hong Kong & Macau offered it all.
Now that our destination was decided, all we needed was, a perfect family package to Hong Kong and Macau and this too was fulfilled by TravelTriangle once again (we had previously booked a trip with them).
Once again like last time, we were connected to various travel agents on board who sent us multiple quotes and itineraries as per our requirements. Soon we selected a package from Breakbag Holidays Pvt. Ltd. and were now sorted with our travel planning.
The countdown to our trip had begun!
- Trip Type: Family
- Cost: INR 102998
- Inclusions: Hotels, Sightseeing, Breakfast, & Transfers
- Exclusions: Flights & Sightseeing that we did on our own
- Hong Kong Weather in February: 14 to 19 degrees
Day 1: Arrival & Hong Kong City Tour
We boarded our flight from Kolkata at 11:45 pm and arrived in Hong Kong at 11:45 am. The flight was a smooth one and post our landing and immigration clearance, we were greeted by a representative from the travel agent’s side.
Hong Kong was sunny and vibrant and gave us a very positive and happy vibe. And from the airport, we were subsequently transferred to our Hotel at Kowloon.
Post our check in at the hotel, we rested for a while and then proceeded on for lunch. After lunch, we were picked up by can for the Hong Kong City tour.
The tour was an enjoyable one and included visits to the following:
- Victoria Peak (Top Level) by one way peak tram
- Aberdeen Fishing Village, the exclusive home town of fishermen where we enjoyed charming views of fishing boats, and yachts and it was followed by a 45 minute Harbor Cruise.
Post this, we returned to our hotel thus ending our day on a happy note.
Day 2: Shenzhen City Tour
After breakfast today, we started with the Shenzhen Tour. We boarded a train from Hong Kong MTR to Shenzhen and upon our arrival got over with all the immigration formalities of China. Once we were done, we were picked up by a designated cab driver who was accompanied by an an English speaking female guide.
Our attractions for the day included China Folk Culture Villages and Window of the World. In Window of World, we enjoyed vivid replicas of the world’s wonders, historical heritages, and famous scenic sites. Overall, it was a very interesting experience post which, we had a nice lunch at an Indian restaurant. Our lunch was followed by a local shopping session which was once again a great experience. Later, we were dropped to our hotel via a cab.
Day 3 : Fun & Adventure at the Ocean Park in Shenzhen
Today, we visited South East Asia’s largest water and adventure park – Ocean Park and let me tell you, it was an incredible experience.
The rides were amazing and exciting and after we were done with our dose of fun, we proceeded on to see different animals in the park. This included, the famous panda and kangaroo among many others.
After spending a memorable day, we returned to our hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 4: Visiting the most famous places in Macau
Post breakfast today, we checked out of our hotel and were transferred to Ferry Pier where we boarded our ferry to Macau. The ferry ride was an interesting experience and we reached our destination (Macau) by 2 pm. From the dock, arrangements for transfer to our hotel was already made and as per schedule, we soon reached and checked into our hotel.
The rest of the day was at leisure and since we did not want to waste it at the hotel, we decided to visit the world famous Venetian and other Casinos on our own. Needless to say, it was a grand experience for all of us.
Day 5: Macau City Tour & Other Attractions
This was an action packed day which began with Macau Half Day City Tour with a local guide.
The places to visit in our Macau tour included:
- Ruins of St Paul’s
- Na Tcha Temple
- Old City Walls
- Mount Fortress
- A-Ma Temple
And finally, the Macau Tower, where we observed bungee jumping from a height of 338 meters.
Post this, we visited the Venetian one more time and had the time of our lives enjoying our last night in Macau.
Day 6: Goodbye Hong Kong!
This was our last day and after breakfast and subsequent checkout from our hotel, we were dropped to the Macau Ferry Terminal from where we boarded the ferry towards Hong Kong Int. Airport. Our luggage bags were transferred to the flight directly from the ferry and our boarding process was a smooth one.
Our unforgettable trip to Hong Kong, Macau, and Shenzhen City had come to an end but we were so glad we took it. This trip gave us a glimpse into the lifestyle, culture, history, and entertainment of the city but most importanlyy a lifetime of happy memories. Our trip was a beautiful experience all because it was a family one.
Tips for travelers: Family Travelers must complete the Pre-Arrival Registration for Hong Kong for a smooth immigration.
The things we enjoyed the most:
- Shenzhen tour
- Ocean Park Tour
Thing that could have been improved: We did not like the hotel in Hong Kong hotel for it was too small for a family. We could have been given better options.
