Highlights Of Our Honeymoon Trip To Mauritius
We have put down some of our most priceless experiences of the trip that couples shouldn’t miss out on their own romantic holiday in Mauritius:
1. Our Stay At TUI Sensimar Lagoon Hotel
The private beach of this grand 4-star property is worth mentioning! It’s true that all the beaches in Mauritius are beautiful beyond words, but this one took our breath away! Utterly secluded and surreal, we had a great time exploring this vast stretch of white sand and the clearest water have ever seen. Though we could get a clear view of the Anse la Raie lagoon and the northern islands from our room itself, they looked absolutely breathtaking from this empty beach.
Other than the beach, the hotel itself is par excellence. It’s among the most best resorts in Mauritius and an excellent option for honeymooners and couples who wish to enjoy absolute privacy as well as taste Mauritius hospitality at its best. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the services were great. While we did not really like the only-western menu in the breakfast and dinner buffet, we enjoyed everything else about this hotel, especially the gorgeous and secluded beach!
2. Trou Aux Cerfs – Turtles, Volcanic Craters, And ATV Rides!
Our full day excursion to the South Island in Mauritius was amongst the best experiences of our entire trip. Let us tell you some of the most special moments from that trip so that you can make sure you don’t miss out on those particularly.
From the scenic town of Curepipe and its surroundings to the extinct crater of Trou Aux Cerfs, we were blown away by the natural beauty of this part of Mauritius. For starters, the sacred crater lake of Grand Bassin (Ganga Talao) is unlike any we had ever seen! We went to the Black River & Plaine Champagne Nature Park and spotted various giant turtles. We clicked scores of pictures with a few who didn’t seem to mind our presence.
We also came across some beautiful peacocks fanning their trail of feathers in anticipation of a spot of rain, a truly mesmerizing sight! We toured the volcanic island on an ATV, and that adventurous experience of quad biking in Mauritius was a total delight!

3. The Seven Colored Earth In Mauritius
We were blown away by the beauty of the unusual “7 colored earth” hills at Chamarel Village. Created by volcanic rocks, this place is essentially a bizarre pattern of different colors in the exposed hillside which appears to have been created by a giant toddler who went crazy with a palette of paints! We had only ever seen this place in pictures, and while we stared at this beautiful creation, we realized that no amount of HD photos can ever do justice to its true beauty.
We also saw the extraordinary Chamarel Waterfalls, which is among the best places to visit in Mauritius and an outstanding example of how creative and refreshing nature can be! It’s a typical postcard-perfect waterfall and we captured tried our best to capture its beauty in our cameras.
