Formerly known as the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Prateek Sthal, the foundation stone for the Ambedkar Memorial Park was laid in 1995. Since then, the park has seen multiple rounds of renovations, including 2002-03, 2007 and 2008, until it was brought to its current state of glory. The park was constructed and inaugurated during the reign of the ex-Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati on 14th April 2008.
Not only is the park a sight of homage to the great Dr Ambedkar, but it is also a sight that honours the memories of significant reformers such as Jyotirao Phule, Birsa Munda and Kanshi Ram. The park’s construction is done entirely in red sandstone, brought specifically from Rajasthan for construction.

Constructed over a sprawling area of eleven thousand square meters, the museum houses large statues of reformers such as Jyotiba Phule, Shri Kanchiram and others. Each statue is engraved with famous sayings of the reformers and their ideals that carved a niche in the average Indian sensibility. It takes less than an hour to explore, but visitors are advised to be prepared to walk around and be comfortably dressed for the same.

3. Drashya Sthal

The Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Drashya Sthal or View Point is located at the back of the main entrance, also known as the Pratibimb Sthal. The point is constructed on top of a pyramid-like structure standing at 80 feet in height. The Drashya Sthal offers stunning views of the Memorial Park at large, clearly showcasing elements such as shrines and creative structures from a height. Visitors can come to the Drashya Sthal for a good view of the Ambedkar Memorial Park and get pictures. Furthermore, the point is also connected to a flow of water from the top of the pyramid, making for a beautiful waterfall of sorts.

Gomti Nagar is well-connected by local transport, including taxis, auto-rikshaws and other menial modes.
