Another popular food of Brazil. It is made from bread, coconut milk, palm oil and peanuts, cashew nuts or shrimps, which are mashed to form a creamy consistency. It is a classic condiment that is particularly used in the state of Bahia and is generally eaten with acaraje, an Afro Brazilian fast food made from black eyed peas, which is first made into a ball and then deep-fried in palm oil.
