This museum was established to commemorate the great freedom fighter Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Dedicated greatly to him, this museum houses pictures, artifacts, and portraits showcasing his life including his family members and friends. It also houses two multimedia halls that give insights into Sardar’s life and work with experiential and interactive and exhibits.

4. The Lakshmi Vilas Palace – Known As Official Residence Of The Maharaja Of Baroda

Popularly known to be the Official residence of the Maharaja Of Baroda, this is one of the best museums in Vadodara. This monumental structure is considered as the largest private dwelling that is equivalent to four times of the Buckingham Palace.

Surrounded by lush green and well-manicured gardens, Laxmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara is sprawling across an area of about 700 acres. Pratapnagar Railway Museum is a unique museum in Vadodara housing antiques from the days of the Gaekwad’s Baroda State Railway (GBSR). 

The highlight of the museum is the awesome collection of signaling boxes, generators, and cutlery, in mint condition. When you are here, don’t forget to check out the documents and time tables, route maps, and photographs of old steam engines that worked on the GBSR lines.
