When it comes to travel, for both my wife and me it means freedom from routine, from everyday worries and an opportunity to enjoy life and embrace togetherness. It makes for an ideal occasion to rekindle romance, ignite love and bring back the joyousness of our youth.
Being a Chief Financial Officer at Cadila Healthcare Limited, I had been keeping so busy with work that it was long we both went for a surreal beach holiday. And since both of us love to travel and have been to so many places in Europe and Asia, Maldives was one place we direly wanted to tick off our bucket list. It just seemed like a perfect escape to us to live like the young and be wild.
As soon as we closed our call on Maldives, we wanted to know all the things to do on a romantic trip to Maldives, best place to stay, best travel agent for booking our trip, and more. Since my niece had visited the island this year in July, she was the perfect person to reach out to, and she was the one who mentioned TravelTriangle to us. Without any further queries, I booked our trip with them and was super impressed with the easy booking process and friendly assistance.

Things to do on a romantic trip to Maldives that added glam to our holiday:
Day1: Admiring the beauty of Maldives together

We had taken a flight from Mumbai to Bangalore, and further from Bangalore to Male to reach Olhuveli Beach And Spa Resort, a heaven on earth. After landing at Male, we were transferred to our hotel around 4 in the evening and decided to spend the rest of the day enjoying the magnificent beauty of the hotel surroundings, the blue water waves, and clear sky.
We moved to the shore of the sea just behind our room, and relaxed on the benches laid just outside the room. Everything around looked too fascinating and peaceful. Watching the sunset together, embracing our relationship, and making lifelong memories were a few things we did on the first day or our leisure holiday in Maldives.
For dinner, we went to the Sunrise Restaurant where we mentioned how we were from India and wanted to have only pure vegetarian food. As both of us had already requested TravelTriangle for the same, the chef agreed to cook Indian food especially for us. It was a sweet gesture and we couldn’t have thanked him enough for it. As we savoured the delicious Aloo Paratha and Mutter Paneer, our first night here had come to an end.
Day 2 : Dolphin watching and enjoying the sunset cruise
On the second day, we had planned to indulge in snorkeling in the morning and spend the evening doing Dolphin watching and taking the sunset cruise. As we did not know swimming, we could not do the snorkeling activity, but despite feeling sad about it, we loved the two other experiences a lot.
In both of these tours, we were served water bottles and cold drinks. Also, both of us clicked a lot of pictures of the sunset, the dolphins, and the two of us. And again we ended this amazing day with scrumptious Indian meals.
Day 3: Creating and capturing beautiful memories

It was the third day of our trip, and decided the let the photographer within us have some fun. We headed out and captured a lot of pictures of the resort, the villas around, the green palm trees against the blue sky, of ourselves, and more.

Not just this, but the two of us also went for jet skiing, and the thrill of it made us feel too young at heart. For the lunch, we had lip-smacking Punjabi food, and in the dinner we had a delicious vegetarian pizza, which was again specially and exclusively cooked for us.
Day 4: A romantic photo shoot at the resort & living in a Jacuzzi water villa

On the fourth day of our Maldives trip, we went for a photography shoot in and around our resort. The pictures were clicked by a professional photographer who had agreed to give us two complimentary pictures along with the ones we choose, which would be chargeable.
This was a very romantic yet funny, but a truly enjoyable experience of our whole holiday. The high resolution photos taken by him looked so surreal that we fell in love with them. So, we selected several photos and paid for the same, which he later shared through the mail.
The pictures made us feel young, energetic, romantic, and joyful. In fact, everyone who saw loved them a lot. This was also the day when we moved to the Jacuzzi water villa for a night and witnessed the sheer exuberance of nature. The rain drops on the window panes looked amazing and the whole view from the room was too breathtaking.
Day 5: Bidding a sweet farewell to Maldives
On the fifth day, we started from the hotel at 8:30 in the morning for taking our flight back to home. Interestingly, we were only two people who had to catch a flight at that time and so we got some more time to spend together on the speed boat.
Our romantic getaway to Maldives was no less than a sweet escape that we would cherish forever. It was hassle-free, adventurous, and fascinating in its own way, and none of it would have been possible without Dreamland Excursion and TravelTriangle.
High Points Of Our Trip
- The fun photo shoot that we got done at our resort
- The generous hospitality of the resort staff, who agreed to cook Indian food especially for us
- Our romantic stay at the water villa
Low Point Of Our Trip
The only low point of our holiday was that we couldn’t indulge in snorkeling. We wished we had known that one needs to know swimming for experiencing the adventure.
Tips For Future Travelers
- Take a trip to Maldives and enjoy to the fullest.
- Take the sweet escape and keep yourself away from TV, mobile phones, and any such distraction.
- When in Maldives, enjoy like the Maldivians do. Dress up as you feel like, whatever suits the culture of the place, and do not bother about the world.
Our romantic holiday in Maldives with TravelTriangle was truly an experience we would love to have again. Trusting my niece’s recommendation and booking our trip with them turned out to be the best decision, and we wouldn’t keep away from doing it again!
