Amazing Moments From Our Honeymoon Trip To Mauritius
1. Touring the North Islands!
Our trip started at 8 in the morning after we had our delicious breakfast at the hotel. Our first stop was the ship factory where we saw handcrafted ships in different sizes that people were purchasing as souvenirs. After that we head to our next stop where we witnessed a volcano crater along with a beautiful waterfall. We had an amazing time here and also got to see a 100 year old tortoise which was quite fascinating. We also visited the Chamarel Village which is an exquisite place to indulge in some delicious food delicacies especially for Indians.

2. Time to explore the South!
The next day of our trip was dedicated to exploring the southern islands on Mauritius. It started with a stop at Fort Adelaide which was named after the queen Adelaide. Here, we could easily see the race-course, ship harbor and church from there as it was situated on the mountains. After enjoying some scenic views, it was time to make our way to Port Louis which is the capital city of Mauritius.
As no trip could be completed without shopping so later on we went to the Le Caudan Waterfront which had about 170 shops for us to explore. You can find almost everything there, be it fancy restaurants, street food, clothes, souvenirs and much more.
3. Walking below the water
This day of our trip was spent in Ile Aux Cerf which certainly has to be one of the best places to visit in Mauritius. After breakfast we went to Belle Mare beach where we enjoyed water activities like tube ride, parasailing, waterfall visit and undersea walk. In the undersea walk, we got to witness and experience the beautiful aquatic life which is simply an experience of its own.
After enjoying these fun-filled activities, it was time to head to Ile Aux Cerf. We hopped on a speed boat and made our way to the island. To say it was gorgeous would not do justice to the beauty of the island. It was simply fascinating with its clear blue waters and white sand beaches. We had a fantastic time there enjoying the view along with the breezy weather.
4. Hotel activities for the win!
One of the specialties about Mauritius is that you can have just as much fun at the hotel as you will at any other destination. So we spent the day enjoying different activities like the glass boat ride which has a see-through bottom. We spotted different kinds of fishes in varied sizes and colors. Staying at a beachfront property has its own advantages and you bet we made the best of them. After spending some time at the beach we also enjoyed a game of table tennis back at out hotel. After an eventful day, we called it a night and head to bed.

5. It’s Cruise Day!
There are plenty of things to do in Mauritius and a wide number of experiences to indulge in, but let me tell you that the cruise is definitely one of the best! We had some optional activities for our leisure day and we opted for the catamaran cruise.
Our trip started from the Black River where we boarded the boat which took us to the cruise. Once we stepped in, we were welcomed with a delectable breakfast on the yacht. We enjoyed some good music interacted with other guests onboard. A delicious mouth-watering BBQ meal including unlimited drinks was served for lunch. The cruise was stopped at the Tamarin Bay where dolphins could be spotted but unfortunately, we couldn’t see any because of the bad weather that particular day. The cruise made a stop for snorkeling and from there we were escorted to a boat which took us for a close view of the Coral Reefs. Afterwards we were dropped to another beach with had shopping stalls and eateries for us to explore.

Answering Some Frequent Concerns About Visiting Mauritius
Is Mauritius expensive to visit?
Flights to Mauritius can be expensive but overall Mauritius will not strain your pocket. It’s better to book a package from India itself as you wouldn’t have to make additional expenses there. Also Mauritius currency is twice the value of the Indian rupee (1 INR = 0.5 MUR) so keep that in mind as well.
What is famous in Mauritius for shopping?
There are so many souvenir shops in Mauritius to shop from. They sell Dodo printed T-shirts, Key rings, magnets that you can bring back for your loved ones. There is no point buying branded clothes from there, you will get those in India at lesser price due to the currency difference. Part from this, Port Louis is also a great place to shop.
What food should one try in Mauritius?
Sea food is certainly one of the most popular dishes in Mauritius that one must try. There are not many places for Indian food there but you will find some restaurants here and there. A few restaurants in Water cauden front mall in the Port Louis city serve Indian food such as Biryani and Dal.
How many days are good for Mauritius?
If you are booking a package from India then 5-7 days are enough to cover all the major spots and enjoy some water activities. If you are not interested in water sports then 4-5 days are also enough for a trip to Mauritius.
